first of all you don't have to apologize because you are just voicing your POV :D

It's true that Jahnvi's love was a bit too sudden - she forgave Viraj too easily and started trusting him.

Even my mom was saying exactly what you are saying - Jahnvi should have made a protest...if not anything else, she should have told everything to Dadi - if she felt that her family is indebted to Viraj for his help, even then she should have told Dadi everything - after all she was not going to Police or maligning Viraj in front of society

Also - I think Jahnvi should have pondered about the fact that Viraj is obsessed with male child -

Did she ever wonder what she will do or rather Viraj will do if a girl is born? She should have started talking to him - at least in polite and diplomatic manner to make him understand that whether it's boy or girl, he should remember that it's his own blood.
But instead she is also dancing in his tune that they will have a boy.

Most probably she is thinking that Viraj will eventually accept the baby girl because according to her Viraj has anger issues but he can't go to the extent of doing any harm to anyone.

I understand Jahnvi is too scared to oppose Viraj BUT when she is trusting that Viraj is changed/changing then she should at least start voicing her own reason/desire --- at least she should give a try. It will make her understand also that what Viraj can do for her or not.

i agree wid u. thanx for supportng. i dnt mind apologising if i hurt sum1 unintentionally...

interesting discussion. unless one has been physically, sexually, and mentally abused by a spouse, i.e., basically experienced what jhanvi has experienced it is impossible to understand why someone stays in such an abusive relationship such as the one jhanvi finds herself in.

i have met well educated professional working women (white American women) who have stayed in abusive marriages for 30 or more years. and this is in the usa where we supposedly are more modern and have resources to support women who want to leave such relationships.

the television show is attempting to portray a very complex issue. and from the limited view of the writers it is not bad.

it is not as simple as we think it is to leave such a relationship or voice one's desires to an abusive spouse.

Jahnvi is a simple sweet girl 😛 Mostly indian girls blindly follow their hubby's demands 🤣and the same thing is picturized on jahnvi too 😆 Women need to fight for their own rights alone and am sure sooner or later jahnvi will raise her voice against viraj and his sick mentality 😳

She is kinda gullible lady who respects her husband a lot even if she gets tortured every minute by him...in virtual world too i have seen numerous ladies who even after getting tortured by their hubbies they idolize them and they get ready to do what their husband want from them.

I am having a feeling tht jhanvi is gonna have a baby girl...no matter how many tantrics they visit once baby's sex in concived it cannot be changed.
So my point is what will jhanvi do when she has a girl...abandon her ?...or tolerate more tortures...viraj is such a crazy fellow tht he might kill tht baby for being a girl...will jhanvi still blindly support him ?

Most of the time women used to stay with the husbands because they were not financially independent and there was social/family pressure.

However, as you have mentioned that there are women in relatively modern western societies who continued their abusive relationships, there are can be multiple reasons. However, when women don't want to come out of the relationship even when they have the opportunity to do so, one of the most important reason is that the relationship is not just an abusive one but they are loved by their partners also. There are men with imbalanced personalities where people show extreme behaviour - while in one hand they are extremely loving and caring and can do anything for the partner, on the other hand, they can be demons when things go against their wishes.

It's this fluctuating behavior pattern that makes the other partner hopeful that things might turn better with time as the person has shown some positive traits - it's this hope that makes the relationship work to large extent.
