Yeah, some of the scenes were OTT...only the first promo conveyed the plot line...also, they sidelined Rehaan's character in the beginning for too long...the episodes are only 30 minutes and the story is going at a very slow pace...so somehow they needed to make sure they show the interactions between Rehaan and Ahana while they were building Ahana-Ahant relationship...because audience sees something for too long, they tend to get attached and forget the main storyline

If they stick to original storyline, Laila is Ahana's real mother and she truly loves her..it's just that she doesn't truly understand her daughter or her happiness, so she forces her opinions and views on Ahana and tries to control her life the way she feels is right for Ahana... she doesn't fall in the category of the conventional, good mothers we see on tv...

If they truly go by the original plotline then this Laila's character has more than what meets the eye. Would be interesting to watch it. But I doubt about her love for Ahana because she had clearly declared that her family and her kids dosent mean anything to her when she was being questioned by her husband in the flashback scene. They need to buck up. If they continue this boring story line for weeks then everybody will start losing interest frankly. This serial has a lot of potential. This is a fresh concept and they should start coming tothe point.
Btw I want to watch theoriginal serial... Any idea where I can watch it coz YouTube dosent have all episodes...

Yeah...Aahana and Anant's relationship is not the main aim of this show...I think the makers really wanted to gain trp and misguided the viewers by not executing the scenes accurately. I actually see no similarity between cheeni kum and Ananat-Ahana here...in Cheeni Kum, there was genuine love and instant compatibility. Both Tabu and Amitabh's characters were very honest with themselves and each other...you can see none of it here...both of them rushed into the marriage without giving it a proper thought...even now, Ahana being all happy for being pregnant and saying that she loves him so much, you can see the desperate attempt from her side to prove her mother wrong. That is why she does not want this relationship to fail at this point in her life. Ahana has done no introspection really to try and understand her feelings and be honest with herself. I don't think she is madly in love with Anant. If they stick to the original story line, you will see how she madly falls in love with Rehaan and the layers of her personality are revealed. She keeps going back to him despite the red flags.

That brings me to the next point. Honestly, I think the ending of the original series was very convincing. I am not glorifying the suicide, but when they reveal the layers of Ahana's personality, you will understand why she committed suicide. I won't reveal too much of the story. But deep down, she really craves for love and that is what made her happy at the end of the day. Unfortunately, her happiness is short-lived. Her life just became a huge mess at the end due to all the complications.

I would really recommend if you want to enjoy the series, keep an open mind to the way the story flows. This is not the typical drama that we are used to watching on Indian tv. Nobody is dhudh ka dhoola hua and mahaan here. The series really explores real human emotions...everyone is selfish to some extent and thinks from their perspective, even our own people...it also shows how making right choices along the way is so important...it shows that we may make wrong choices, but the actions that we take after realizing the wrong choice also decides the course of our life. I hope star plus for once forgets about the trp and really focuses on the quality and content. Poor execution and unnecessary drag within an episode at times doesn't allow me to enjoy the series as much as I enjoyed watching the original version.

Wow,love your reply
Yesterday itself I was talking to my mom about the show & she too agrees about how how Ahana killing herself in the end would be the perfect ending & it would be totally understandable if she would want to live no more
Wouldn't add anything else cause your reply is so apt.But yeah it's her mother cheating on her father that made Ahana want to keep away from relationships like she says in the first episode about how she hates the idea of a happy marriage & that all of it being a lie .Yet deep down she would like anyone else would want to experience true love

The words said by Saloni to Ahana playfully in the first episode " Mein tujhe shrap deti hun Ahana ke tujhe aisa pyaar hoga ke tu pagal ho jaayegi, deewani ho jaayegi " that kind of was like a glimpse into how things are gonna be when Ahana does fall in love with Rehaan

Also, agree episodes of late have been really slow, especially when you look back at those initial episodes which were really good.Hoping for Star Plus to not interfere & let the makers do their job.

I personally think star plus and the makers misguided the viewers by showing anant and ahana as a the main couple and kind of like an eternal lkve story. Except for one promo which kind of indicated ahana will regret the marriage every other promo gave a positive vibe for anant and ahana relation.
For people active in sns and have seen the original one might know the real story but they are in minority.

I totally get why ahana commits suicide. All her decisions regarding her life were wrong. Married the wrong guy, fell in love with the worng guy, realising that she is way too similar to her mother and ended up being everything she didnt wanted to be. Being with rehaan was the only happiness and that too ended. Realizing he is never gonna pick her over roshini and anant. All these are more than enough for her to fall into depression.

Exactly it was totally unlike " Dil Sambhal jaa zara " & felt like it being incorporated as per the diktat of the channel

Laila does love her kids. The way she tried to make Ahana understand why she shouldn't marry Anant, that showed her real concern. She was indeed worried for Ahana. She didn't love her husband but truly cares for her daughters

Hi TM, its a great thread...however i never thot of discussing the suicide till it actually happens in our show (or if the story is not changed)...
personally i am attracted to this show only after i watched the ending of the turkish show...so i am very much in favor of the ending...of course i do not condone suicide of a modern and educated girl...

however this story has its own pace which ends with the girl committing suicide...

bihter's marriage to adnan was wrong at the very root...so this marriage was never for keeps that was always the message of the turkish show...sadly our makers promoted sanjay kapoor and smriti kaira as the main couple which was absolutely wrong according to this story...it is about the forbidden love between rehaan and ahana and how their love upset them and everyone else in their life...

love itself is not a forbidden emotion of course...nothing can be more beautiful than falling in love...but there r some ppl u cant fall in love with...at least falling in love cannot be in one's hand but expressing it and pursuing it is of course in one's hand...this is where rehaan and ahana will fail and the result had to be something disastrous...

anant has been shown as a unforgiving man from the very beginning which is similar to adnan's character in the turkish show...

if we go thru the last day of the turkish show we will see that adnan will inform bihter that he will divorce her once nihal gets married to behrul which was supposed to happen that day only...

lets see the sequence...
bihter begs behrul not to marry nihal since that way not only will he destroy nihal's life but also he will leave her after days of being in love...

adnan announces to her he will divorce once the marriage happens...adnan says this with a straight face...of course by that time adnan was not aware that his wife is cheating on him with behrul whom he loves more than his own son...i hv not seen the exact reason shown in the turkish show why adnan will decide to divorce but as far as i can guess bihter will twice abort his child (some say that the second one was behrul's child)...
wat i guess is that adnan suspected her of cheating and also the marriage is not working in any way that too adnan cud sense and so he wanted to free her...however he had no clue that it is behrul who is his wife's lover...
he gets to know that from besir who just before dying shows adnan a video of behrul and bihter in an intimate position...

so first bihter loses behrul then her husband's respect...if we follow the turkish show then we will get to see how passionately behrul and bihter were in love with each other...

after losing everything and then seeing that behrul is doing another great mistake of marrying an innocent girl she actually had no other option left...see the last scene...adnan pushes open the door and finds her holding the gun and behrul standing in front of her...by that time adnan wud hv lost all hopes on bihter and he no longer felt betrayed by her...therefore he did not once look at bihter and and was even not bothered that she had a gun...but seeing behrul standing there he felt the ultimate betrayal by his own son...he will repeat a line two times "tum to mere bete the" (urdu version)...

seeing how much every relationship has blown to pieces...seeing the strong bond that existed between adnan and behrul was in shreds...seeing the fate of her love...a love that she had cherished for so many months...i think in a moment like this its hard to resist pulling the trigger...

although suicide can never be the only option but there comes moments wen living becomes even more difficult option...not everyone can rise in that moment...

i hv loved the turkish show as it was and i am hoping with all my heart that our makers wont mess with the original storyline...

our show has lost its pace...the initial episodes were so tightly scripted and each and every dialogue had innuendos...the future track was always reflected in everything they showed in the first few episodes...like saloni telling ahana that the latter will one day become crazy in love...like rehaan telling ahana in gym that she will gv her heart to him one day but he will not ask her to gv her life for him...
the car scene...wen ahana went away in anant's car but her bracelet which was gvn by her dad was left in rehaan's car...the bracelet was very close to her heart and that remained with rehaan...

i am sure channel is interfering...i hate this trp issue...it messed with my earlier fav show POW...siddhant's character ended with so many loopholes...i wish and i wish this time they wont mess with the story...i am watching only with this hope that the turkish show will be totally copied till the last scene...

Laila loves her kids..she said all that to her husband in a fit of anger...if they stick to turkish version, you will also see that Ahana cares for her mother, even if she dislikes her strongly. Yeah, the story needs to pick up its pace. The show is already getting low trps, and star plus will soon lose patience with the show. If they do it right, they will gain viewership even with the concept of extra-marital affair. I really wish they would stop glorifying Anant-Ahana's relationship like this, because they will have much harder time explaining the intense love between Rehaan-Ahana which is absolutely necessary to explain the extra-marital affair. All characters are layered. Anant is also not the perfect guy that everyone thinks he is. As the show progresses, his layers will be revealed as well. He is loving, respectful and kind-hearted, but he is also a man with ego. He is quite unforgiving and strong minded. At one point, Adnan (Anant's character in turkish version) forces himself on bihter (Ahana's character) and sleeps with her even if she says no. I wish the makers get on with the main plot. I am afraid if SP looses its patience due to low trps, it's going to shut this show abruptly.

I watched the urdu version that aired in pakistan i assume...I watched on dailymotion...just google ishq-e-memnu with each episode no. it will pop up - https://www.google.com/search?q=ishq%20e%20memnu%20urdu%20episode%201&cad=h
You will have to watch youtube turkish version for the intense romantic scenes of behlul and bihter, the urdu version cuts off all even slighly intimate scenes

the reason is simple is trp aunty ..end of the dat v know aahana will falk for rehaan but sp are dragging and shoeing aahana as bechari so thtt thy can convince viewers abt her affair eith rehaan

Thank you...šŸ˜›

Yeah, the first episode provided a lot of foreshadowing...I cannot think of a more convincing ending...towards the end, her life becomes such a big mess and to top it all, she has no support system in her life. She is surrounded by all wrong people who do not understand her and she madly loved a man for whom she put everything at stake but he was weak and a coward even if he loved her back immensely. The actress who played bihter (Ahana's role) did such a good job in the suicide scene that you could understand how devastated she was at the end of it all that she pulled the trigger.

Yup,,,,i really hope show pick up its pace...i have been finishing the episodes in like 2-3 minutes...I am very interested in seeing how they explore Ahana-Rehaan relationship.

ohh man...that just sucks...that is the worst way to convince viewers about the impending extra-marital affair...the whole crux of it was that their love was too strong for them to fight..they really need to show the intense love to explain the extra-marital affair...i really hope the makers don't try to justify it by making her bichaari and all that, because there is no justification...it's just that viewers need to understand why it happened.
