Anyways but kids shouldn't be so selfish. Here the girl is not a kid anymore. She should think that her father is alone.

I know the actress is so catastrophically and comically badšŸ˜† She seems like a 15 y/o and not 18 in real life. I hope she improves. Even the actress in the original was hella annoying!

But on paper, I empathize with her plight. I have seen how some kids get psychologically affected after losing their moms at such a young age especially my cousin as I've stated above. Her line of reasoning went like "if you (her dad) can so easily think of replacing mom with another woman, then you never loved her in the first place." After this bombshell, my uncle dropped the idea and he's been single ever since. My cousin is 21 now and goes to one of the top schools in her country. These kinds of action can be easily judged by a bystander but I think only if a person has felt the loss, can he or she be cognizant of how damaging it can be; how there are things that are easier said than done (as cliche as it may sound)

for me the actress who plays roshni is doing good job, she is her papa's favorite girl, she would feel insecure and act like that too.

Usually, we think the eldest child would respond more mature than the youngest. But actually, Roshni has perhaps suffered the most (from the children's perspective). She was old enough to remember her mother. To feel her love, and at the same time the grief during her sickness. The hospital period might have traumatized her quite a bit. There seem to be some age difference between the two children, which means Roshni has had her parents full attention for a long time. Being the center of attention is something she is used of and... The rest in the house has also gotten used to that.
Inspite the annoying personality of Roshni, I think Anant is also responsible for her behavior. Understandable, but he has created this little clingy drama queen. To deal with their grief, they found comfort with each other's presence. But at some point Anant should have given her the tools, the encouragement to get out there and become more independent. She might be 17/18 biologically but her mental age is closer to 15.
She doesn't get out of the house without anyone accompanying her. I think, Anant loved also that feeling of being the only man in her life, her comfort zone, her rock. Most girls see their dad as their hero and daughters are daddy's princess. But here something went wrong and now it seems almost too late to change.

She searches for comfort in the middle of the night and end up with Rehaan. Not her Massi. Her brother is too young. She knows her hero dad will has to divide the attention soon and instinctively she has found herself another hero she feels comfortable with.

I do find it strange that nobody in the family has raised any questions about Ahana's motive. Maybe I missed it. I only saw Rehaan wondering why Ahana wants to marry someone twice her age.

Yes... To me she is annoying as hell. But I suppose the actress is doing a good job then.

I actually feel that her emotions are justified. Also, the actress is playing the role really well especially if she is getting such reactions from the viewers.

I guess this is something that differs from person to person.
I don't see Roshni as selfish but certainly very immature and I guess the credit for it goes to Anant for the constant pampering.
I say this because there was a time when I was in a similar situation, albeit, in my case it was the father who was being replaced. I was dead against my mom marrying another man when I was 12-13. But during my 15th year I started giving the idea a second thought and I was totally convinced. So much so that I personally started looking for potential grooms for my mother when I was around 16-17 and kept insisting when I thought she was losing interest (LOL weird but it's true).

It was all because after seeing her alone for so long I wanted someone to be with her even after I would get busy with my own life. She did find someone but didn't want to marry instantly and decided to completely know him first. I hung out with him and it was all cool and this was around the same age as Roshni.

So it's actually possible for 18 year old kids to understand these issues without going completely nuts. I wouldn't have said this had Roshni been a little younger but at 18 kids are not kids in the conventional way anymore and especially not in today's world..But I guess her core nature has this possessive streak in it and even if she were a little older, she'd still be going nuts over sharing her dad with anyone else or perhaps, every person's way of handling things is different and this is Roshni's way.

But Anant needs to let her a little loose for her own good. Storming out of the house, throwing tantrums when things don't go her way wont shouldn't really be appreciated.

There's a difference between death of a parent, especially a mother vs the scenario you've mentioned, right?

@Bold: OMG I am gathering all my ammo to blast the twosome when the time arrivesšŸ˜† Ah it's gonna be a bumpy ride🤪

A very interesting set of opinions on this topic šŸ‘
Although I agree that Roshni is a little more than irritating as a character for various
reasons discussed here, I wanted to also add that Anant himself is a tad bit
responsible for her behavior ...Considering Roshni being sheltered & pampered
all this time...she has been the center of attention all along...for her to accept
someone else who she hardly knows & will now be stepping in her mom's shoe
Is quite the shock. Forget accepting, even to see that person share space with her dad
would be unacceptable for her...all because it's too sudden.
A better approach should have been Ananth speaking with his kids first, especially her
& allowing that person ( Aahana) to gel with the children a little before announcing "Marriage"
( Roshni herself confessed about her dad not letting her know first )

But like someone said, the crux of the story lies here & going with the original story
( which I have not watched).

I also have to admit that it's hard for me to believe Anant loves Aahana.
I think he's very confused, while Aahana is much more clear about her thoughts & feelings.
