The concept of this show is very interesting and heavy duty, mind you- how a person can become the very person they hate in their quest for vengeance.
Week 1 ended on a tumultuous note- The vulnerable Ahana battling her father's loss has resolved to thwart her mother's attempts to get what she wants- a lonely widower. While Ahana's interactions with Anant till now were innocent and pure, their interactions now will be tinged with the dangerous hues of her deceit. It seems she will now be on a mission to seduce Anant away from Laila but being the raw and inexperienced player she is, will get caught in her own web.
Rehaan- I really liked Aashim Gulati's performance. Usually I don't like these carefree playboy type characters 'cause they're so overdone but his portrayal of Rehaan is refreshing and endearing. Like his bond with Anant, Roshni and Aarav. I look forward to Rehaan-Ahana's interactions. Thumbs up from me for Rehaan.
Ahana- Again, what I love about this show is the restrained performances. Every central character is restrained and not OTT. Smriti does a fine job of playing the disgruntled daughter who wants to destroy her mother. Who would have thought a mother and child could compete against each other?
Anant- Love Sanjay Kapoor's portrayal. It is so natural that I feel he could be someone I know in real life. The lonely but dutiful widower who loves his family might find himself changing as he wades into the mess that is the Raichand family. As they say, you can't jump into muck and come out clean. How will SK portray Anant in the later phases of the story is something I am eager to see.
Laila- A monstrous mother often not seen on TV 'cause motherhood is considered the most sacred of all roles. We see how parents are not always perfect. Is there more to her? Only time will tell.
Roshni- Crazy girl. 😆 Very temperamental and it doesn't take long to convince her about something. Clearly, she will take Rehaan's suggestion of marriage VERY seriously and hate Ahana not only for taking her father but also prospective groom away from her. She fainted after Rehaan told her Anant will marry her off- talk about an overreaction.
All the other characters are well-written and I also like the colour palettes and styling used in the show. Classy- as all of you have pointed out.
I would rate it 4.5/5.
