In so many TV serials I see the hero harassing the girl in the initial stages but becomes very angsty and emotional when the female sheds tears. Its a tried and tested formula to redeem the hero and show that there is a heart especially when the heroine tears up ...and the heroine tears up a lot in front of the guy

Palak on the contrary is adequately badass to people who trouble her ...be it Rithwik or be it Mahendra Lungi GEE. She fends for herself and refuses to be a damsel in distress. Not even in front of a guy she has hopelessly fallen for; she holds up her own

I think one of the reasons for Rithwik to fall for Palak is because he respects her a lot for this.

Which is why I absolutely loved the scene yesterday when Palak did breakdown for once because it was too much for her to handle, and Rithwik, instead of mollycoddling her, told her to go back to being badass. He refuses to let her go weak, cause that would not be Palak. But at the same time, he let her know that she is not alone.

I love this serial because the lead characters are equally strong and equally weak. Rithwik will never let Palak weaken. And Palak will never let Rithwik hide his weaknesses behind his mother's alleged defection.

Absolutely. Ritwik may go berserk when he sees her in danger. But he likes her stronger.😳

Exactly. It's so nice to see lead heroin not crying on loop. She cries after seeing ritwik with someone else but it's so natural and not at all ott. I also liked palak when she gave it back to reeva and rishabh. The way she said sorry reeva and aap adhure sach pe react kar rahe hai to rishabh, it was superb.

DHTH has many amazing things but the best being at par leads. The female lead isn't a damsel in distress nor is the male lead a self proclaimed God.
Rithwik is a character well brought up by Mamta (plate scene in early episodes).
Palak who might hopelessly be in love but that doesn't stop her from holding of her own.
Rithwik never takes Palak as a damsel in distress. He is worried for her but doesn't think that she can't handle it. He is proud that she is this badass who can fight her own battles.
