A lot of actors in this industry who are now considered as leads and front liners started as 2nd leads or sides. I can give a list of names but everyone knows who they are. Even SC was a 2nd lead in QH. Now she is a lead. Look at Varun Kapoor who was 2nd lead is Saraswatichandra, who is now a headliner for Colors? Aditi Rathore who played Nikita's sister Preeti in EDKV is now the lead of Namkaran? So no one can say someone is not "Lead" material. That is decided by the opportunity and also talent. ALL these actors had talent. All they needed was the right role and the right chance to shine and they made it. (There are some people who are just not good actors or only have looks. I am not referring to such people). I am talking of people who actually have talent.

Even Kunal was subjected to such talks before DBO, but he proved he can be a lead. Now it's Lee's turn to prove he can carry half of a show. He was promised a parallel lead role in IB and also in DBO but they never delivered it. It's not his fault the writers didn't know how or what to write to develop Rudra's character or track. But from what little he was given Lee has managed to shine. He had some good intense scenes with Saumya which he nailed and he was praised for it too. It's no denying he is a good actor, even Nakuul and Kunal themselves have praised him and his talent. Leenesh leaving would not have done the shows ANY good, and that is why they retained him. He is an asset to both IB and DBO, no matter who says to the contrary.
