I've stopped watching this show, so I don't know what happened actually. But Om was always like this and has shown this shade in IB too, so there is no character butchering here in this scene I guess. He's no gentleman when he's angry. He almost pounced at Ishana and Riddhima when he came to know about their truth, but Shivaye and Rudra stopped him. So him nearly slapping Gauri is not surprising at all. He can actually slap Gauri when he'll come to know about Chulbul truth.

You know the saying "Still waters run Deep" that's exactly wat Omkaara is... He is a very nice soul but when Om gets angry then he can turn into this lion and eat you alive... Infact Omkaara is the worst of all the Oberois men when he looses his temper... This side of him has already been explored in IB... I don't think it's anything new...
If you guys remember he almost pounced on Ishana ( on the last confrontation scene )and was stopped by Rudra & Shivaay ... With Riddhima he was worst... Riddhima was his steady girlfriend for almost 3 yrs but he just asked her to get lost... He even almost went to hit her in the last breakup scene of there's and that time Shvaay and Rudra had to stop him again... Shivaay Infact asked Riddhima to leave seeing Om loosing it completely...
We have already seen Om attacking Tej ( one of Kunals best performance )...,
So that the way he is... Omkaara is very complex in nature... He is intense, quit but at the same time irrational at times... It's hard to understand Om...
So yesterday he almost slapping Gauri was not new...

But still I agree to the fans saying they have Defiantly changed Omkaaras character in DBO... This is still not the same Om whom we saw in IB and whose individual love story we demanded to see...
They even have changed Oms look in DBO... In DBO not once have we seen Om painting or Sculpting... Even am missing his Shayries...

I just now pray to the Cvs that they give us our old artistic Omkaara back... With his old hairstyle and looks...
Hoping once Omkaara and Gauri journey starts in a week they try and bring the old Omkaara back...

Exactly!!! Omkara was always like that. He's no saint. He's the most flawed character among the OBros, who has set his own rules of life and wants everyone around him to follow it. I agree that Om's character is being butchered, but still I don't get why everyone is getting disappointed with this scene coz Om's character is pretty much capable of slapping Gauri. As you said, Om almost pounced on Ishana, was almost about to hit Riddhima and even attacked Tej by grabbing his collar. He has done all this in IB too. He follows Satyagraha(hypocritically), but not non-violence. He doesn't differentiates between man or woman, elder or younger. For him, people are either good or bad as per his own standards and he treats everyone equally on that basis literally. Grey characters don't exists for him and that's why fans wanted a grey FL for him. But anyways, I'll not get into that topic as there's no point.

As for Om's original character, I'be stopped expecting anything from CVs. If they had a plan to bring the old Omkara back then they wouldn't have changed him in the first place. The old artistic poet who was calm, down-to-earth and had a positive view on love and life is dead now and there's no way that he'll get back to his older self. Now he's just like any other four lions hero. Om fans wanted to see the love story of the Original Omkara. Not this DBO version. Yes, he'll change coz of Gauri, but the innocence he had in his character will never come back. Now he has became a more practical guy.

And his new look, I guess it shows the change in his character. His previous old look was of a boy next door and it made him look feminine. Now CVs have made him more manly and gave him some style, like a typical ML Gul is supposed to look. I'm too missing his old look and not much fond of his new look. I loved him in the open hair but what can we do?? Jab Omkara hi badal chuka hain toh uske look ka Kya karenge??

Thanks to Cv they r buturing omkara day by day for showing Mahan FL.. keep going. Show him more worst. Bcz u can't do anything else other than this...

I agree with Luna and Nalina that this is not really THAT unexpected. But it is still butchering.

Baal bund matlab sarey emotions bund! I said it yesterday too that he shouldn't have raised his hand. Though he didn't slap Gauri but still this action of his wasn't even in the list of least things excepted from Om.

I just want IB wala Om back. Him not believing in love , they can keep but everything else about him want to get back. The whole essence of Om has been ruined. Tbh I am dragging myself yo watch DBO now just because of Kunal. He is the third brother and as I love the brothers equally and their girls so I can't do anything about it. If

With Gauri worshiping Om is getting too much. Rona dhona in a sense is okay but getting flat in his charan is something I don't enjoy or want to see. Don't know if it brings TRP or inner satisfaction but this is the only change I want in Gauri. If things kero on going like this that day isn't far away when Gauri will be seen touching Rudra's feet too. It's her habbit/pooja And sanskaar of touching elders' feet but I guess they will not change no matter if we like it or not. This is why I feel her mother will die, she'll be in a trauma and will change slightly.
