I agree that Ridz was not Mahaan and I liked that about her. She may have done some dishonest stuff too. But she never showed Om the mirror about his hypocrisy at times. The "using the name" part with the police, he only did that when the Police officer "mocked" him and said shall I tell the SP that Mr Omkara is asking to speak to you? THEN he said "Maybe then she will speak to Omkara Singh Oberoi?" In HIS shoes I would have done the same. Because I request in a polite way without throwing my name around. But I got no respect for it? Then I WILL use my influence and see how you like it? Anyone who gets pushed will do that! I don't see any hypocrisy in that. If he had rocked up to the Cop and said "I am Omkara Singh Oberoi" let me in? THEN I would agree he used his name. He just told the police officer that he was using his Uniform to scare people, but he was not going to rock up and announce his name. But he did because he didn't listen to his request and on top mocked him! He deserved it.
As for Ridz being a "takkar ki Ishqbaaz?" She just didn't have the charisma or the chemistry with Omkara to do that. Just being a "flawed" character was not good enough. She didn't "effect" Om in a strong way. Om cared for her, loved her even, but he was never IN love with her. He just didn't feel that passionate connection you need to feel with the person you end up with. It has nothing to do with anything. It's just a connection you yourself don't understand. He had it a bit with Ishana. From their first meeting she effected him. The same applies with Gauri. Ishana it was positive or so he thought, Gauri it is negative or so he thinks? But both times something was there. Kuch toh hain tere mere daramiyan type? I feel what an intense guy like Om needs is someone who "gets" him and his sometimes childish attitude. His Zid. His impatience. Even his hypocrisy. I don't agree that because Gauri is his "fan" she will not show him he is wrong. She is not a fool and neither is she afraid of him. She gave him tight at the start and I am sure she is capable of it even now! Let's hope they at least show THAT! Then it will be tolerable to us!
Fact is, no one will ever really be good enough for Om. Because from day 1 he was the most different and special guy on this show. I think even Gul and CV's know that. There never has been an Omkara before! This PH has done many AYM's but never a guy like Om as a lead. So they struggle with this. That's why it took them so long to develop his story. Even Rudra. He is not an AYM. He is a lot more complicated and layered. To show his story, it takes a lot more thinking. So this is an exprienment for this PH. Only time will tell if they pass or fail!
