"But Soumya, What about your reputation?" Rudra tried to explain.
"Reputation?!"
"Yes. Tomorrow at college that will be the talk of everyone."
"They know he's my boyfriend."
"But that doesn't mean he can kiss you in public."
"Firstly, he kissed me on the cheek, secondly, where's the public?!"
Rudra and Soumya were in some friend's birthday's party; They had come to the party together as they live next to each other besides they are best friends. In the party, when Rehaan 'Soumya's boyfriend came, he kissed her cheek. Rudra, who was standing beside Soumya, left them and joined some friends; he was angry with her, 'How could she let him do that?' he thought. When Rehaan excused himself to answer a call, Rudra grabbed Soumya to some corner where no one could watch them.
"Soumya, try to understand'." He said when she cut him off, "Whatever!" and she raised her hands and shook them in a way which meant that the conversation is over when she saw Rehaan approaching them. Rudra never liked this Rehaan a bit, so he left them again. Romi waved to him and he went to talk with her; they chatted for half an hour about the party, their friends and the college.
'So she remembered there are others except that Royaan,' Rudra thought angrily when he saw them joining a group of friends.
After sometime all gathered around Priya for cutting the cake. "Stop." Soumya stopped her when she was about to blow the candles off then all the guests turned to look at her; Rudra chuckled as he knew the reason because she stops him every time he celebrates. Priya gave Soumya a questioning look, so she answered quickly, "Wish something first!" Everyone laughed and encouraged their friend.
They played some slow song and Rehaan asked Soumya for a dance; he agreed and they went to the dance floor joining others. Many couples started to dance when Romi asked Rudra to dance with her. "Sorry Romi, but'"
"Won't you do a friend a favor? Come on Rudy." Rudra Singh Oberoi was known as Rudy among his colleagues.
'She's a friend and could he refuse a friend?' So he agreed.
He wasn't paying attention to Romi while dancing as his eyes were only with Soumya. Soumya's arms were around Rehaan's neck (which he wanted to break) and his hands were on Soumya's waist. Rudra unconsciously tightened his arms around Romi; he crushed her close harming her unknowingly. "Ouch, Rudy you're hurting me." But he didn't hear her. She followed his eyes and was not astonished to see jealousy and hint of pain in them when she saw Soumya dancing with Rehaan.
"Soumya." Her name brought his attention to Romi and he questioned her by the eyes.
"I know you love her Rudy. Don't know how she can't recognize this!"
'Is it that obvious?' All what could Rudra think of. Romi leaned closer to him in a dangerous way that their faced were in inches distance. Rudra looked shocked at her.
"Make her jealous." Romi told him when she read his expression. "She won't notice it." He said disappointed. "She will. Trust me!." She leaned and whispered in his ears, "laugh." Rudra for trying his luck followed her instructions. "Now lean closer to me and pretend to tell me something." They were like that until the song finished.
The couples clapped for themselves and made groups again talking non-stop. Soumya excused Rehaan before she grabbed Rudraby the arm. She led him out to the nearest venue which was empty by now.
"So, wasn't that more scandalous to be tomorrow's college talk, Mr. Oberoi?" And as Rudra knows very well, Soumya uses 'Mr. Oberoi only when she's very angry at Rudra.
"What is that?"
"Your dance with that bi***."
"Soumya." Soumya and this language, how come?
"Oh! I must have hurt your feelings." She replied in a tone full of nothing but sarcasm.
"Soumya, you know that she's just a friend."
"A friend! My foot! When Rehaan kissed my CHEEK you made an issue out of it Rudraand then'.." She was fuming in anger, "You were too CLOSE Rudra." Her voice was broken somehow. Man! Is she jealous now? He hoped.
When she didn't get any reply, she put her hands on his arms and looked straight in his eyes, "No one Rudra NO ONE have the right to touch you like that! Be close to you like that!" Then she kissed him passionately taking him by surprise. Rudra was shocked at the beginning and he tried to digest the situation. 'Understand later! She's the one who kissed you first, so it's ok to kiss her back,' he told himself.
"I only have this right on you, Rudra." She whispered and rested her forehead on his. "But Soumya, what about Rehaan?"
"You know I've never loved him and when I saw you with Romi, I've realized that you're right; it's not a habituation it's love. You've talked with her more than half an hour alone, then you danced with her." She was observing me while I thought she forgot all about me "I swear I could have pulled her hair and kicked her out." Rudra chuckled then stopped when she glared at him. "You don't love her, right?" Soumya was very serious and Rudra knows this tone.
"We were talking about you, Sumo." Soumya smiled as she loves the way he calls her 'Sumo'. "She is the one who asked me to make you jealous and it worked."
"You!" Soumya hit his chest until he stopped her by putting her arms around him and hugging her.
