Hello everyone, I am De: an OmRu, ShivKara, RuMya, TejKara, and O-bros fan from IB forum 🤗

I am late to the party here because of my current professional commitments 🥱.

I just saw all the episodes of DBO at one go 😊 and realized that Madam Gul and co. has made DBO more of a spoof of IB than a spin off.😆

For the uninitiated, these are the Oxford dictionary definitions of spin-off and spoof:

Spin-off: A byproduct or incidental result of a larger project.

Spoof: A humorous imitation of something in which its characteristic features are exaggerated for comic effect.

Car (windshield) breaking, gobar (dirt) throwing, money throwing, water splashing, leading lady having distinct language and mannerism, leading lady being all dabang in front of his leading man but a damsel in distress at home in front of adopted evil aunt (and uncle), lady setting herself on fire due an other woman in the life of his late-middle aged husband, both suicidal ladies having the same first name, etc are no coincidences and are intentionally made exaggerated caricature of Ishqbaaaz. 😃

Makers are having a ball making a parody out of their own creation. So please if this is a spoof. please treat it as a spoof...😳 I personally admire people who can laugh at themselves...

So that was my opinion and preference. Please participate in the poll and also share your valuable opinion.😳

Signing off: Dil Boley Oberoi 😉

It's more like a spoof which defeats the whole point of a spoof. It doesn't make me laugh. I don't understand why the writers were begging to be bashed by showing the awful similarities between Shivika and RiKara. They could have done this in a hundred other ways. If they wanted to be bashed badly they could have done other things like they do in IB these days.
If you must self plagiarize at least do it with dignity and show something logical but no! They wanted to say that we are shameless enough to not just plagiarize OTTness but also blow it up hundred folds too. I mean blasting the windshield for no particular reason is nothing compared to destroying a car with a buldozer after seeing the instructions on your phone. And muh pe notes ka bundle maarna is soo out of fashion bhai hum log aajkal notes phekte hai (and pyaar se bolte hai ke "kitna paisa gir gaya.. ")

Nothing beats Anika 2.0 though. I mean she is really an upgraded version of Anika in every aspect 🤣 But ladki emotional scenes mei on point hai.

Those are the complaints but the real reason to watch this is Kunal and Omkara and Kali Takur. The first episode ki tashan is soo soo soo hot! It was fire! And the cherry on the cake is that Omkara is still Omkara. The same rotlu guy who cannot help but cry for other people and feel their pain. That is an answer to complaints of him trying to imitate SSO and thank god for small mercies

Just waiting for Rumya lol. And maybe RiKara will turn out to be something else too, who knows!

Honestly, I don't think the problem is that Gauri is like Anika and/or Omkara is like Shivaay, it's that Omkara and Gauri just clash, but the entire takkar ki jodi/opposites aspect is not there. Shivaay and Anika contrast in beliefs and status (important aspects to their characters), Rudra and Saumya contrast in body-image and standards on significant others (again, important aspects to their characters) - but the important part is that they fought as opposites, that's their takkar ki jodi.

Omkara and Ishana would have been like that too, because they are opposites: one is sensitive, kind, and morally upright but the other is dishonest, manipulative, and corruptive. However Om and Ishana were they way they are for good reasons. I feel like they each had a good argument to make, the world isn't black and white some of it is grey.

Gauri is awesome and she has my heart, same with wicked-Omkara too. Omkara's change is much needed to fight with Tej. However they need to flesh out the characters personalities to show the opposite aspect. Otherwise, Rikara will always be weaker to me in comparison to Ishkara.

Having said that, I sympathize with Gul because spin-offs are sorta new to hindi tv - so it's going into uncharted territory.

I think it's too early to judge . It is unfortunate that they chose exact situations that remind instantly of Shivika even to unbiased viewers.
But I saw a glimpse of old Om, when he spoke to his mom today. I have a weird feeling, Om is going to steal the bride from Kali, before DBO moves back to Mumbai.

The chaining of Gauri's feet feels a little too dramatic, and Om comparing her to Svetlana is not digestible. He was the one who always said, things are never as they obviously appear to be.

I'd give it a couple of weeks, it'll improve.

Spoof?? Aren't spoofs meant to make you laugh?? I really doubt that it is happening (or that was the intention)it actually makes you cry so this definitely is not a spoof
But yes this could be called a cut copy paste, the makers are not even trying to conceal that they are into self plaigarism mode

In Bollywood language it's called taking inspiration😉

I think all the things denoted above are common in a human life. If it was done by someone it does not mean that it should not be done by others. On the other hand all the scenes of DBO are new for me because I am not the viewer of IB. So most of the new viewers like me can enjoy this spin-off show without comparing it with the mother show.

Hi , I've read everyones opinions. just wanted to give my pov.
Honestly yes the first episode was nice in its own way but too familiar for all our ishqbaaaz viewers. and all the om loyalists obviously wanted to see something fresh and new. but from the second episode it is pretty different honestly. he took down her shop and she took down his shop. maybe the beginning was similar but whats continuing after is extremely different. and you know what they are portraying the whole ghulaam thing . in UP and other rural parts of india. this HAPPENS. women are bought for money. They are trying to show something different. lets all be supportive and lets enjoy it? lets all not jump to conclusions. only 3 episodes have been over. and the third episode changed the whole dynamics of the show. now i totally understand why they showed jhanvi burning herself in ishqbaaz and why the whole tej and svetlana's engagement happened out the blue. it was for this. And quite frankly I've never seen anything like this happen in any other serial before. yeah there are mistakes. but which show is perfect. lets all be patient. and omkara and gauri look very cute together. I'm a SHIVIKA loyalist. but lets give them a chance? see where this goes.

Not trying to offending anyone.
