Are contemporary styles dominating too much?

Are the contemporary styles dominating the traditional styles too much in DID? What about your region, is contemporary more popular than the traditional dance of the region. At least, in my region bhangra still remains the top.

A lot of the credit for contemporary dance styles becoming more and more popular goes to Terence Lewis and Shiamak Davar so hats off to both of them.👍🏼

in India I'd still say Bollywood dance is the most popular and I don't see that changing as such in the next couple of years.

There are many classical dancers in India as well as contemporary dancers and it's hard to say which one is dominating right now because the audience only get to see the edited version of the auditions.

I am sure picture may be very different in India compared to what we see on TV. I think the contemporary dances shown needs the fitness of an athlete plus a gymnast.

I think that's what makes India so amazing! There are many different dance forms that people can dance, and also, they can create their own variations/ fusions of them. I don't think contemporary is dominating, but in fact adding to the options.

And Bollywood gets boring sometimes.

Yep these days the contestants need not have knowledge of Indian classical dancing .
