Abhay vs Vikrant - Who to root for?

Hello! A lot of you already know me... UD ke forum waasi jo yahan pe aaye hai uss show ka drama () chodd ke (for good might I add). I rarely post here... but I am regular with the show...watch all episodes... I am more active on other forums but I have been wanting to make this post for quite some time.. so here it goes.

NOTE: I mean to offend no shippers... purely my pov please feel free to disagree and present alternatives. I would love to hear your views.

Abhay Sathe is an ambitious, intelligent doctor. He has the typical rags to riches dream and a sort of traumatic past which has made him bitter towards his birth father. As a character he is nice but I find it lacking substance... there is nothing more to him. He had the typical misunderstanding about his female boss and once that was cleared he has fallen in love with her

With his character I always keep thinking 'what more?' There is nothing more he has to offer... there is no personality in him. He is (and I may be harsh) a shallow man who has no courage to tell his girlfriend that he doesn't love her. A man who has been in an unwanted relationship for 5 years and only realised that days ago.

He loves his mom to pieces and yet doesn't have a minute to spend with her... and I am not undermining everything he is doing for her or the fact that he is BUSY as a doctor. I just can't relate to his character or even begin to sympathise with him.

Vikrant on the other hand... is layered character... I can't help but hate him for his actions and decisions and yet the next moment I can sympathise with him. No i am not excusing his chauvinistic ways but there is always more with him... and though I might not relate the man is a good character to watch and follow on screen.

He is grey, he is flawed, but as a character he has substance. And that is what makes him interesting to watch.

When I look at them as 'candidates' for Deepika I want her to end up with none of them. She can become good friends with both... but I really don't see her falling in love with any of them. If the makers wanted us to root for one over the other... as far as I am concerned that has failed... i can't root for either of them. I am rooting for Deepika to end up on her own.

Side note: Since chemistry is very subjective... in my opinion I see no chemistry between Abhay and Deepika... the actors just don't go together... but Vikrant and Deepika... my my Rohit and Aditi have that natural chemistry... only if his character was better in terms of a romantic interest.

Anyways I would love to hear everyones thoughts!

IMO, both Abhay and Vikrant are not worth rooting. Abhay is still waaayyyy better than Vikrant, but not rootable, atleast for now when is knowingly or unknowingly betraying Siya and her father.

I despise Vikrant to the core

Out of context, but I am somewhere shipping Sia and Wasim😳

Abhay put himself in a very difficult situation where he engaged Sia (mainly because of her father's illness and to hide the truth from Piroz) and Vikrant, out of sudden decides to divorce his wife because he only loves Deepika.... (or another reason)?

I will still take Abhay's side if he has enough courage to tell Sia what's going on.

So for now still hoping for AbDeep to end up together or the best solution is that Deepika follows her dream of being the Head of Emergency Dpt....it will be the best closure for her I feel.

As for the actors, the 3 of them are giving phenomenal individual and together performances. Additi is pulling the character very well ( this girl, whenever it comes to performances always gives her 1000000%) and is relatable to some extent....Rohit and Vidyut it's a pleasant surprise for me..... they are amazing!

Abhay as a person is way better for sure but I don’t find him interesting as a character

I ship sia and wasim as well!!!

Hey Lovely..I started watching Dhadkaan after i couldnt even tolerate WUs of UD anymore and fell in love with this show

I dont want to ship anyone in this show. ITV has a way to ruin things so dont want to do same mistake

I feel Deepika will be very good friend with both of them and will not end up with none of the both

Abhay is young, impressionable and though faced tough situations in personal life but still not mature enough. He generally puts everyone else's happiness or wishes next to his (in personal life) so as to make them happy but he is going to end up hurting lots of people in the end because he is indicisive

I am still not getting a hang of Vikrant..he is typical MCP. but the way he treated Deepika initially and now is so polar opposite that it makes me feel suspicious of him like he wants to pull deepika again near him only to shatter her. I may be wrong and as you said his is layered character so cant even predict his actions

I feel Deepika will end up as PC..a bachelor dedicated to her craft

I like him better than Vikrant obviously. I just dislike Vikrant's school of thoughts and he sometimes can be quite arrogant in the way he talks, quite a turn off.

He also has a messy situation with Aditi his wife. In 10 years he never really tried to contact Dipika but now when he saw her he is like let's try again 😳

I find Dipika having chemistry with both of them.

I'm definitely not shipping her with Vikrant.

The rest depends on the story and how they shape the characters.

All 3 actors are great. All actors/cast are doing a good job.

AbDeep for sure..😆 Nd if not them, then I'd prefer D to end up being happily single, but never with V..🤢 Rest is upto the makers ofcourse!😆

Same here.. Don't want to ship anyone but like all.. 😆 I like the conversations between the characters... Also the fact that in the world of ITV where everything is so domesticated at least some people are working and are also ambitious... 😆

Abhay obviously .I don't understand why is he always compared witg Vikrant (no offence to u 😊) .He is a flawed character but Vikrant jaisa kuch kiya nahi .

I can't connect with Vikrant 2.0 either .

I mean Vikrant was trying for babies before he saw Deepika and suddenly everything changed for him? like really?..even in the first face off after 10 days, he was sooo bitter and jealous and hurt and suddenly he is all about having her back.

he married a girl in 2 weeks after their break up, suddenly wants to divorce her now that he has met deepika. i mean how to trust a guy like this

He may be genuinely regretting things, understands even Aditi is unhappy, realises Deepika's ambition was no less than his and everything. That will make him normal, a human but i personally doesnt make him eligible for deepika...that ship has sailed
