News Reader Vrish: Hello viewers, it's time for our special edition on the LPL.

While the action has not even started on the pitch, things are hotting up on the WAG front. Yesterday, we brought to you exclusive interview with Urmilla and her kids. Now we hear that the gorgeous Tara- wife of the Devious Devas owner, Brihaspati - has joined the WAG crowd here.

However it was her presence in the Charming Chandravanshis camp that has caused a flutter. May we remind our viewers that a few months ago the CC owner - Mr.Chandra Dev and Tara were spotted together at all the hot' n' happening places leading to the speculation that they were more than just close friends and that Tara's son Budha was actually fathered by Chandra. Brihaspati was however quick to rubbish all such claims

Now, with Tara being publicly seen in the CC camp, speculations are sure to arise once again.

Our reporter Speedgal has more news

Speedgal : Oh yes Vrish. Tara's presence has certainly caused many heads to turn. Of course she is a star in her own right- so she must be used to being in the limelight. When we asked her why she was sporting the CC team's shirt rather than her husband's DD team this is what she had to say:

Tara: Well, Chandra has always been a good family friend...And it's fun to say "You see, I am a CC .."...(giggling)

Speedgal: What about the rumors linking you and Chandra

Tara (cutting off) :Absolutely a figment of media's imagination. I don't know where you get such stories from.

Speedgal: So if there's a match b/w CC and DD which one will we see you supporting?

Tara : The winning one!! (walking away, flashing a winning smile)

Speedgal: That's all I have from here. Back to you Vrish.

Vrish : That's something to look forward to in a a CC Vs DD match. Keep watching, viewers. We'll have all the news on what's hot and what's not in this edition of LPL - twenty thirteen.

WAG in cricket jargon, is the acronym for- Wives And Girlfriends

Following the upset victory of CC over DD, Speedgal decided to check back w/ Tara for her reaction. She therefore visited Brahmalok, where DD was practicing for their 2nd match against BB. She found Brihaspati there w/ the team, but no Tara. No Sachi either.

Speedgal asked Brihaspati. "Where is Taraa?"

Brihaspati: "Dunno, must be w/ Sachi someplace".

She asked Indra: "Where is Sachi"?

Indra: Don't you know? She's the coach of SS, and is probably w/ them practicing for their next match.

So Speedgal flies off to Kailash, where SS are preparing for their match w/ GG. She catches up w/ Sachi, and asks her about their preparations.

Sachi: We are fresh from our win against VV, but we are taking this match very seriously, given the superlative performance of GG the other night.

Rama: Yeah, we are really looking forward to wining against the Ganas in their home ground. I have a good record in confronting my adversaries in their home turf. Ask Ravan.

Speedgal: It's good that you are preparing to make this as tough for GG as PP made it.

Rama: Yeah, that's the idea.

Speedgal: Btw, Sachi, do you have any idea where Taraa is?

Sachi: Don't care. She's probably w/ Chandra and the CC boys.

Speedgal was on the next flight to Mathura 😈

CC upsets AA in surprise performance.

Following their stunning win over DD, CC pulled off another stunner, this time in their home ground in Mathura, where they pulled a totally unexpected win over AA.

CC won the toss and put AA in to bat. Despite this track having the reputation of being a paceman's haven, Nahusha, aware of what Bhashmasura was capable of, opened his bowling w/ the spin of Sesha. The strategy worked. Bhashmasura tried to loft this one taking advantage of the inner circle, but Nishumbha took a running catch to get rid of him for a duck. Everybody was stunned.

Chakri was promoted up the order, and started playing his shots. He hit a couple of boundaries the same over, before Nahusha caught him at mid-on. Sesha ended up w/ 2 at the end of the over.

Vidyunmali now joined Atri, and they started batting cautiously, in sharp contrast to the opening match. By the end of 9 overs, AA had only 50 runs. Nahusha then brought in Bhrigni, who made short work of Vidyunmali, and Nahusha, who consumed Atri.

Vasuki & Vritra now joined forces, but Vasuki's attempt to force the pace of the innings came to an end when Nahusha had him caught by Nishumbha near the boundary. Maya Danav was in next, but soon, Nishumbha had Vritra out LBW. Finally Jalandhar came in, but Nahusha managed to keep the strike off him, and kept getting his partners out. AA finished the innings at 120.

In response, CC sent in Ashwin1 & Taare to open the batting. Bhashmasura's misery in this match continued, as Taare started hitting him out into the stands. However, Jalandhar soon got a breakthrough w/ both openers. However, Bhrigni and Nahusha joined hands to play a very cautious game, but being careful to rotate the strike, and hitting out whenever the bowler wasn't Jalandhar. Both remained not out and saw CC home, Nahusha making 51 and Bhrigni 45.

Sesha was the man of the match for his 4 wickets for 29 runs. Nahusha got the Nayi Soch award for putting together an innovative match winning strategy that caught the asuras off guard.

Score

AA: 120/10 in 19 overs

Vidyunmali - 35
Jalandhar - 25
Atri - 20

Sesha - 4/29

CC: 121/2 in 20 overs

Nahusha - 51
Brigni - 45

Jalandhar - 2/36

BB wins upset victory over DD

BB managed to open their account today against DD against all odds, by scoring another upset victory over DD.

Indra won the toss and selected to bat, but his side got into trouble very soon. Bhrigu was out in the first over itself. Indra then promoted himself in the order and tried to improve things, but was soon taken out by a clever doosra from Dhoomralochan. From then on, wickets were falling at regular intervals, and except for a rearguard resistance from Raktabheej, DD offered no resistance, and were all out in over 15 for 70 runs. Dhoomralochan, Vajrang, Kashyap and Dadhichi each took 2 wickets each, while the other 2 were run outs.

BB came in and decided to experiment - Kashyap opened the batting w/ Rajguru. However, Rajguru soon holed out to Raktabheej, and Kashyap followed soon. However, Angira and Trisiras came together at the crease to get some batting exposure, and they both comfortably saw the team home w/o much difficulty.

Trisiras got the man of the match for a few catches and stumpings, as well as his batting.

Score summary

DD - 70/10

Raktabheej 20

Dhoomralochan - 2/5
Kashyap - 2/10
Vajrang - 2/10

BB - 71/2

Trisiras - 30*
Angira - 20*

Raktabheej - 1/15

GG beat SS in run feast

GG scored a second win in a run feast at Kailash today over SS. This time, SS won the toss and put GG in to bat, hoping to reverse their fortunes in the previous match.

GG opened this time w/ Markandeya and Shilad. The latter hit some lusty shots before getting out in the 3rd over to Shumbha. Nandi then came in and started hitting lustily, and pretty much held together his end. On the other end, too, runs kept flowing freely as SS failed to make much impact despite the best attempts of Shumbha, Hunda & Chanda. GG ended up w/ a score of 157/3.

In response, Rama sent Bhageeratha to open w/ Rishi Garg. Bhageeratha took on the bowling of Nandi, Tarakaksh, Mahakal and Vayu, and made sure that the match pretty much tracked the GG progress earlier. Mahakal managed to remove Bhageeratha, while Nandi removed Garg. That brought Rama and Vaishistha together, and they too batted until the 18th over. The match was dead even up to that, but Mahakal returned to remove Rama, while Vayu removed Vashistha. That triggered a collapse in the last 2 overs, and SS ended at 150/7

Mahakal was the man of the match for outstanding bowling figures of 5/38.

Score summary

GG - 157/3

Nandi - 46*
Vayu - 25
Shilad - 20

Shumbha - 2/27

SS - 150/7

Rama - 35

PP crushes VV at Vaikuntha

PP managed to recover from their defeat at Kailash 2 days ago, and pull off an emphatic victory at Vaikuntha.

Kartikeya won the toss and chose to bat. This time, he decided to drop down in the batting order, in order to play the finishing roles. While Tarakasura remained in the opening slot, the other one was given to Agastya. This time, Agastya did a good job w/ the singles, while Tarakasura hit boundaries and the team was at a healthy 100 for no loss after 10 overs.

In the 11th over, Daksha brought himself in to bowl, and removed Agastya, while Tarakasura himself fell for 60 in the very next over. This brought Kama and Lakshman together. Lakshman played a fiery innings, hitting a sublime 50 up to the end of the match. PP ended the innings w/ 180/2.

In response, VV opened the batting w/ Durvasa and Kapila. Durvasa batted valiantly, but the PP bowlers saw to it that wickets fell regularly at the other end. Finally, Veerbhadra himself took out Durvasa while the latter was on 49. Once Durvasa was gone, the rest of the innings folded.

Tarakasura was the man of the match for his all round performance.

Score summary:

PP - 180/2

Tarakasura - 60
Lakshman - 50*
Agastya - 30

Narada - 2/30

VV - 150/10

AA trounce DD at home

AA managed to put their upset against CC behind them and pull off an easy win over DD in Tripura.

Winning the toss, Vidyunmali chose to bat, and sent in Rishi Atri and Bhashmasura to open the innings. DD was a different team today, as for the first time, Mahishashur and Raktabheej formed their opening bowling partnership. However, Bhashmasura lost no time in hitting them out of the attack, and this time, Chakri joined in. Indra then pulled off a brilliant move, introducing Sanaka, who got rid of Bhashmasura first ball (like Vihari got rid of Chris Gayle today)

Atri was soon to follow, but Vidyunmali and Vritra joined hands. Indra came in to bowl, and Vritra was particularly hard on Indra, before he fell to the last ball of Indra's over. That brought in Chakri, and he was happy to continue where Vritra left off. In the death overs, Yamaraj got rid of both Vidyunmali, who made a nice 52, and Chakri as well. AA ended w/ 170/7,

In return, Indra decided to try and give his side a faster start by opening the batting w/ Bhrigu. However, Jalandhar opened the bowling, and really rattled Indra, beating him on on-side, offside and bowling a few short pitched deliveries at him. Finally, in the 6th ball of the first over, Jalandhar put Indra out of his misery.

Vidyunmali then took Jalandhar off the attack, and introduced Bhashmasura, who in the very next over, removed Bhrigu. Indra then sent in Mahishashur & Raktabheej, and they managed to plunder runs and really bat for a while. Finally, in over 14, Vidyunmali sent in Jalandhar again, who removed both Mahishashur & Raktabheej.

From that point, it was all downhill. Yamaraj came in, but Jalandhar made short work of him as well. From the other end, Vasuki, Vritra & Maya Danav too started chipping in, and at the end of it all, DD was all out for 130.

Jalandhar won the man of the match for his 5/25

Score Summary

AA - 170/7

Vidyunmali - 52
Vritra - 40
Chakri - 35

Yamaraj - 4/40

DD - 130/10

Mahishashur - 45
Raktabheej - 40

Jalandhar - 5/25

CC wins emphatically on BB

After narrow wins that some even described as flukes, CC got its first emphatic win today on their first game at home. On a pitch suited for pace bowling, BB won the toss and put CC in to bat.

CC opened their batting w/ Vishwakarma & Sesha, who batted slowly, and at the end of 10 overs, crawled to 50. Part of the reason was that for VV, Vajrang and Agni, who opened the bowling, made good use of the pitch, and made scoring runs next to impossible. In the 10th over, both openers tried to hit out, and were gone.

Bhringni & Nahusha then came together, and batting was somewhat easier since BB didn't have any other pacemen. Bhringni was particularly hard on Dhoomralochan, and Nahusha too batted well. However, finally, they both fell to Angira, and from then on, not too many runs were scored. CC finished w/ 110/8.

In response however, Nahusha set Nishumbha & Taare loose, and they obliged. In the very first over, Nishumbha removed Kashyap and Angira, while at the other end, Taare made short work of Aghori and Dadhichi. BB were totally at see as they battled CC. Seeing them so effective, Nahusha decided to give them an extended spell of their complete quota, and in 8 overs, BB was all out for 60.

Nishumbha was man of the match for his 5/20

Score summary:

CC - 110/8

Nahusha - 46
Bhrigni - 39

Angira - 3/24

BB - 60/10

Trishiras - 15

Nishumbha - 5/25
Bhrigni - 5/35
