Beautifully written, thanks for sharing what you came across...

My two penny worth is this...

Rawan was a devotee of lord shiva and that too a param bhagt...

I feel Vishnu in manushya avatar as Ram came as a human form on earth to bring messages to the humans. He touch the lifes of people from Ayodhaya to lanka and back to ayodhya...

Rams role as a family member..son,nephew,brother,student...then his wanwas acquintances...including animals...and then ofcourse his major one...Rawan/dashanan.

Just like in getting mahadev out of his meditation in Amarnath,Parvati was assisted by indra's assistant(sorry i forget his name) who in the process lost his life...

I feel Rawan was "Used" as a means of bringing lessons to mankind...
He may have done sita haran...but with all his ego and temper and foolishness(add any vices i have not listed)...he did NOT touch Sitamaa even once...
How well does that fit for a man who was tagged as the "WORST".Or is it that he did not touch her because in the story ahead when People point fingures at sitamaa pavitra tata...sitamaa would have a tough time proving so😕

when he died he said Jai shree Ram and Ram took him in his heart...

Rawan's soul leaves in the heart of Ram...based on this i find it an odd ritual that every dashera we make a rawan putla and jalawa him...rawan leaves in Rams heart how can we do this...anyways that a personal point of view...

But what i have learnt from the journey of epics...everything is destined by Tridevs...and more than often characters are "used " as a means of getting something to happen...

Look at vijiya, satis elder sister...she was never even mentioned...then she came towards the end of sati era to turn tables😕

All in all,i as a hindu enjoy watching the epics when they come on screen and i like the idea of having a forum to air our views...

Thanks for the platform under your topic⭐️

I love the way they have shown Raavan in this show. I knew was a great Shiv Bhakt. Now the transformation from being so good to evil will be a challenge. One I look forward to.

ravana hated rishis,he enacted blood tax on them as they had nothing to serve to him in his kingdom.so he is definitely an anti hero and a total villain in front of lord rama.

@ preetal,
Ravan had connection with Vishnuji in his past life. Once Sanata kumarsas Baal rishis went to Vaikunth to meet Vishnuji, they were stopped by Jay, Vijay, the dwarpaals. Though the doors of Vaikunth were open, they were not allowed to enter. The rishis cursed them to be born as Asuras. They got scared. Vishnuji came to their help, he apologised to the rishis first then asked Jay Vijay, what would they like? 7 births as his devotees or 3 births as anti God. They prefered the later as they wanted to return back soon. Jay Vijay were born as Hiranyaksh & Hiranyakashyap as Asura, Ravan & Kumbhkarna as Rakshas & Shishupal & Dantavakra as Human.
Vishnuji took various avatars to kill them. So Ravan's end was predestined.
