This story was Parvati closing his eyes & the World going in Darkness. As you've said Shivji always closes his eyes while meditating, even I was thinking the same.

The concept of Shivji's eyes is when it is fully open- creation is going on, half open- things are going on in the World & fully closed- time for destruction.

The audience watching the game from Ksheersagar box to Kailash stadium was funny.

Symbolism..third eye is ur soul..so when we close it our life is overshadowed by dark clouds of uncertainy..ie we bcom attached to worldy mattr in excess and the truth of life buried

Hi, everyone! Actually and weirdly, there are two other forms of god which come half-half this way. You can sometimes hear of "Vaikuntha Kamalaja" - this is half Vishnuji, half-Lakshmiji roop. But I think it is said that this roop is coming later in history than the Ardhnarishvar. Also, sometimes you can hear also of "Harihara", and this is a combined form of Vishnuji and Shivji. Still, I think Ardhnarishvar can be said to stand apart as the primordial fusion of purush and prakriti energy. It is a very beautiful concept hai na?
