You can make fun of Asuras, not Shukracharya.
This thread exists in Archives by the name Asura Appreciation. So keep the same name.

He may have been venerated by the devas, but Shukracharya hated them for very legitimate reasons:

His mother was killed by Vishnu who was after some asuras that she was protecting
His maternal grandfather was Hiranyakashipu, so he was understandably loyal to the asura cause

Since he already hated Vishnu, he had no choice but to at least be loyal to Mahadev - one can't be inimical to all the 3 trinity deities and hope to prevail.

And he developed the sanjeevani, which only the asuras enjoyed, but the devas managed to get Kacha to force him into imparting that knowledge. Devyani somewhat did some damage control by cursing him that he'd never be able to use it himself - thereby making it useless, but Kacha stated that he'd continue to be able to teach it to others.

Okay, we won't make fun of Shukracharya, but do allow us to mock & lambaste the devas. Pretty please? 😆

Whatever may be the reasons, people watching this show are not watching only for the story, due to other important significance attached to Brihaspati & Shukracharya, they are respected by many. A Guru is always respected.

Why is it necessary to make fun of someone to appreciate others?

We wont make fun of guru's ..rishis and god and godess ..there is no need for that...we respect them all...but we cant make fun of the asurs..=]

For the gurus, it isn't, and we won't. But for the devas, they were pretty much a mixed bag character wise, and some of the things they did was downright evil. That's why I was suggesting a waiver for them.

The gurus - Brhaspati, Shukracharya, in fact all the rishis here - Dadhichi, Markandeya, Kashyap, Bhrigu, et al - none of us are suggesting making fun of them.
