As for leaving Sita...
Bhagwan Vishnuz birth as Shree Ram was cursed... Some rishi (i guess Bhrigu, but not sure) had cursed Vishnu dat he wud face separation from his wife whom he loved so much in his nxt avatar.. It is humility of gods to keep respect of a rishiz curse... U can find such incidences where God had gracefully accepted a Rishiz curse and the Rishi has later repented for it...
As for their Love
You can c the Lordz immense love for Devi Sita from the fact that he remained as a Brahmachari for his entire life after Sita... No 2nd wife, nor concubines... He easily cudve enjoid all the sensual pleasures under the pretence of being a King or for the sake of Ashwamedh Yagna (where he placed a statue of Sita instead of remarrying, as the queen is reqd for yagnya).
It is very easy for Loverz to stay 2gthr, but very very difficult to stay apart and still b loyal...
You can never question the Lord's Leela

Lord Ram was separated from sita by the curse of goddess parvati as Vishnu tricked Ravan for asking mata parvati instead of his required boon. of course mata parvati again returned back to shivji by assuming bhadra kali roop. this is from southern sthala purana of gokarna kshetra.

It is in a sense reasonable to say that Shaiva sects promote more gender equality as we can see from ardhanaareshwara form shiva. moreover goddess parvati is more active participator in shaiva myths and puranas. Lakshmi and saraswathi are more benovalent goddesses and play second fiddle to their consorts. whereas Shakti is equally active as shiva and some times even more prominent than shiva as she has a her cult of own like shaktas.

it was devarshi narad who cursed for seperation. it is a very famous story. narad started comparing himself to mahadev coz once when he was doing penance, devtas and even kamdev was not able to break it. so blabbered about this to shiv and then infront of vishnu. vishnuji wanted his bhakt to be free from all this moh maya. so he created a maya and made him fall for a princess and finally married that princess himself. at that moment naradji cursed him.

sita went in prithvi because she wanted to protect her self respect of being a woman in that ruthless society. she wanted to end that disgusting chapter (people suspecting her character and purity)forever so that her sons can live peacefully. i totally agree with her. actually i believe she should not have even given the first pariksha. just because she is woman, she has to prove herself.

john909 : Completely agree with you. I am personally against this aspect of Ramayan where a woman is asked to prove her purity by walking on fire and Ram, who is supposedly an epitome of righteousness, concurs with such an unfair practice. I know most won't take this kindly, but I feel this is nothing short of promoting honour killing. Even up to this day, in several villages of North India, victims of rape and molestation are asked by the Panchayats to purify themselves by walking on burning charcoal. Our society seems to be traditionally obsessed with woman's purity and chastity and the victim is further victimized by her own kin.

once upon a time, ram and shiv had a fight. Since ram/ vishnu is shiv's guru and shiv is ram's guru, so they made up quite easily . But ram ki chela bandor aur shiv ki chela bhoot log ki ladai chalti rahi.

Don't judge their leela. And even if you try to do, use some common parameter. End of the day, ram was human form, with humas mistakes and judgement. Visnhu never threw out laxmi. Laxmi walked out on him several times and he ran after her to get her back.

Yes you r r8 about Narad cursing lord Vishnu
I read somewhere dat Lord Vishnu had beheaded Rishi Bhriguz wife in a process to protect Devtas and the rule of righteousness in the world, due to which Bhrigu Rishi gave a curse 2 Lord Vishnu dat he'll have 2 face d agony of separatn frm his wife just as Rishi Bhrigu did.. This curse was applied to the exile of Mata Sita by Shree Ram. Devrishi Narad's curse was applied on Sita's kidnap by Raavan.

Yes, in other sects the "Prakriti" is held equal to the Lord or the "Purusha". Shaivaits hold Uma in equality to Mahadev...
