Sati after Ram-Sita?

Hey all

Though i m not a regular on this forum i do watch mahadev regularly. in todays episode when sati was talking to vishnu her dialogues indicated that ram avtaar took place before sati. till today i had always believed that sati & parvati both were before ram avtaar. does anybody here have any information about this one? or was dis a blooper?

ram avtaar took place in treta yug...then in which yuga was sati born? becoz after treta comes dwapar yuga when krishna took birth. she definitely wasnt around then bcoz the mahabhart was written by ganesh - parvatis son!

i feel sati & parvati both were b4 ram avtaar. do share ur thots on dis one.

well u are right ram avtaar happened after sati...but sati with her shakti went to future...to see ram and test him

it seems u hv not watched last 2-3 weeks episodes.Shiv was once talking abt Lord Ram to sati.Sati wished 2 see Ram so shiv made her see Ram and Lakshman thru his powers so dat's why she said dat she had done Ram's darshan.

yeah actually in one episode past weeks they showed that shiv worships bhagwaan ram..so mahadev shows her future ram and laxman..but sati is uncertain whether he really is bhagwaan ram or not...so she travels future and tests him😛

no what they are showing is right...sati did take roop of sita and shivjidid her tyaag ..and the the yagya ,,,itsabsolutely correct...sincethey are showing it in fast mode we r thinking so...btw shivji had told her abt the future so it was time traveling

Actually, the OP is right. Sati's demise happened in the Satya Yuga, while Rama Sita existed in the Treta Yuga. However, mediaeval authors like Tulsidas usually ignored the chronological and logical consequences of their work, and the result is a very confusing account, when compared to the ancient texts and what was known in history at the time.

This serial seemingly took the Tulsidas account of things and placed them here. Otherwise, nowhere in the puranas is there anything about Sati meeting Rama or anything like that. If anybody would have had a chance to witness Rama, it would have been Parvati.

Think about it - in Valmiki, when Ravan was on his conquests and uprooted Kailash, it was Parvati who panicked, and so Shiva pressed his whole weight on Ravana, almost squishing him. If Parvati was already there during Ravana's early life and years before Rama existed, how can Sati meet either Rama or Sita?

In Ma Shakti show they had shown Parvati testing Ram. wher Shivji & Parvati were roaming in a forest, he spotted Ram & told parvati about his love for Sita. Then Parvati tested him, Shivji told her Ram will recognise you. After the incident Parvati told Shivji, he was right. There was nothing as Shivji rejecting her after that, they both went back to Kailash.

I remember reading this incident with Parvati only without the rejection exageration.

One more evidence is sita was ardent follower of ma gauri. And tulsidas only written when sita sees rama in pushpvatika she goes to gauri temple and sings ''JAI JAI JAI GIRIRAJ KISHORI JAI MAHESH MUKH CHANDRA CHAKORI, JAI GAJBADAN SHADANAN MATA...'' it clearly depicts that she is refering ma parvati who is daughter of himalaya wife of shiv and mother of ganesh and kaartikeya
