Chapter 8

Manyata remained straining out of the window , the day light penetrated into the apartment as she sat on the bed her knees in the embrace of her arms , her eyes were all swollen and redden she had been crying the entire last night , she regretted pushing uday away and hurting his feeling the way back to home was quite and even this morning he simply passed a fake smile manyata could understood how badly he was hurt but she too was helpless ,the kiss to her was a mistake , she did not want to cross her friendship , as in her mind she was still so scared of holding his hands , the past had imprinted on her so badly that now even if she tried moving forward it pulled her back , she knew that he is her husband and have all the previlages to touch her but still he respected her and all she did was to hurt him only because she herself was scared of getting hurt all over again , when she was married she had a new hope of life , little were her expectation , as she too was aware that luck would never favor her all she expected a husband who would be with her even in the darkest days of her life holding her hands , she was totally ready to forget akash and be a faithfully uday but the bitter truth she found of his nature pulled her towards akash who was the only shed for her in the storm . But now situations had changed and finally she was getting the love she wanted but she denied it , she just wanted to tell him to stop to divorce her and move as she knew loving her would only give him pain . Helpless from the tangle relations and the situation life had given to her she stared out of the window as the first rain of the season settled down on the window the first rain of the city is a magic in itself , it was like all the buildings were getting washed and beautifully painted as every time the waves hit the sore her heart skipped beats it reminded her of her childhood days when she used to get drenched in the wet playing and dancing , but since she lost her parents she lost the little life in her , her pale grayish green sari was drenched with the hot tears flowing from her body already as she stepped down and took hold of her umbrella she needed to smooth her mind and the best place for doing so was none but the church that was just round the corner to her visit to grocery she sneeked there for a couple of times and it found out to be her best place to relax her soul as she walked down the lanes she recalled all those prayers she did to fix her life and finally now when all prayers are answered she does not value it , she sat there on the long wooden bench it was isolated and quite just with the sound of the rain as she sat there rejected and closed her eyes while her hearth spoke

MANYATA:god please help me I am again in the same place of life … I do not know what to do? Now he loves me so much and yesterday he did so many thing I mean made me feel so special and I was truly happy after so long but again I hurt him the person who did so much for my happiness I hurt him feeling though he kept quite yet I could see the pain in his eyes I feel so helpless I do not know I am scared of being hurt by him again or hurting him as I love akash but then why is it not bothering me I am so confused god please help me to show the right way I need you help please clear my confusion I need to know what this attraction towards uday means please god help me ….

Saying this she wiped the tears from her eyes as she sat there letting peace cover her mind

He sat there working hard on his cabin , flooded himself with work just to stop his mind from that incident , he was angry and frustrated he hated that moment how badly he wished he could erase it , the time there lips met he felt like getting uday crushed under a truck how could he touch her? Uday had always taken thing that belongs to him but no more as this time it was about manyata the love of his life and at no place he would let uday take her away . SHE BELONGS ONLY TO HIM TO ARYAAN as he had a grin in his face an evil plan struck his brain now uday would be destroyed and even manyata would leave him the day was soon when he would get all that was only his as he called jai and said

ARYAAN:jai I want you to fire uday

JAI:have you gone nuts aryaan you know if I fire him I have to pay so much of compensation

ARYAAN:it is ok you are powerful lady trick him and escape from the compensation

JAI:ok mr evil head and how do I do that

ARYAAN;if he is caught being dishonest with the company according to the law he have to resign without demanding for compensation

JAI:he is so truthful he will never do anything we can never get a single flaw on his part

ARYAAN;aha honest guy huh but what about his character

JAI:what do you mean?

ARYAAN:the charges of physical abuse you are intelligent enough jai the money will reach you after the work is done

JAI:then assume that the work is done

He disconnected the phone as a wider smile appeared on his face , and he caressed the picture of manyata in his table

The rain settled down on the window as he stared dreamily outside the city that was getting drenched in the rain the very thought of rain reminded him of his love , of manyata though last night incident still pricked him yet he could just not sweep the smile from his face recalling all those happy moment they shared and even how close he was he knew her hesitation but he was ready to give her time , this time he was ready to get up after everytime he falls down as he looked at his wallpaper o mobile and said

UDAY;I know there are mistakes I have commited but do not worry I will sweep all the tears from your eyes and fill your life with happiness this is the promise of your husband

There was silent as the rain too had stopped she realized it was really late and uday must be back home by now , the dusk had fallen heavily over the city as she walked back to the apartment but found the door open she entered and closed the door behind as looked for uday he was no where to be found and the conclusion was uday might not returned yet she crushed herself for leaving the door open and getting out of the house but soon she heard some footsteps behind her she turned to see it was uday completely drenched in the rain as she rushed towards him taking the towel and handed him , his condition made her worry and said panicking

MANYATA:oh god how did you get drenched uday …. Take the towel dry yourself uday or you might catch cold

he looked jovial a smile plastered to his face as while wiping his hair while she asked him

MANYATA:how did you get wet uday?

UDAY: well I jumped out of the car to take the water drops in my embrace

MANYATA:uday you are a married man now not an junior school boy you must learn to take care of yourself

UDAY:I do not need to take care of myself till the time I have you ….

He said with a smile handed her the towel and headed towards the washroom unknown to her cheek turned into the shades of pink as she headed to the kitchen cooking tea for him , admist in his cute antiques she missed the spoon of sugar soon after he came and sat there while she handed him the tea he took with a genuine smile but on the very first sip his face turned expressionless as after completing the bitter tea he smiled and said

UDAY:I adore the way you save my ration wifey

MANYATA:what are you talking about

UDAY:I mean not putting sugar in the tea that's a good way to save sugar wifey

MANYATA:oh I am so sorry but then why did you drink it you could have told me I would make it all over again

UDAY:at times even the bitter seem sweet if it is made by the person you love more than anything

He stood up walking towards her as she stepped back her heart skipped beat and the chase ended as she found herself pinned to the wall , his eyes were fixed on hers but just to disturb this moment there was a knock at the door they got apart as manyata opened the door and found policemans before she could even react they said

POLICE: uday veer singh we have a warrant on your name we arrest you for trying to attempt a rape at your boss miss jainandini
