J couldn't believe what she had just done. Did she just rescue her sister from dying?

She remembered the day she and her so called hubby had been deported to Mumbai from Jaighar. Akash had been arrested by the police in connection with attempt to murder charge on queen of Jaigarh but as it happens in most of the cases, He had greased the palms of dubious protectors of law and gave the jail term a miss. He had to haggle with them for the 'right price' and he was irked with them and took out all his anger on J once he was home. They were staying in Akash's dingy flat for the moment.

She had remarked jokingly that he had turned into a hard core law breaker and a criminal. This comment of hers enraged Akash so much that he had slapped her. J wasn't by any angle timid or coy so she fought back. They had fought tooth to nail and to put an ugly climax to their sham of a marriage, Akash had charged on her with a butcher knife, god knows where he had procured that from. Akash managed to throw her on floor and he was just about to stab her; she picked the first thing that came to her hand from a near by table and bonked him on the head with it.

It was a paper weight. The impact was hard and Akash's limp body fell on top of her from the shock of it. With great difficulty she managed to wriggle out from under him and stood. He was lying there; flat and unresponsive. She checked his breathing; alive..phew! first thing she did was to get out from that hell of a place.

Once she was in her own room at home; J got some time to sit and pour over the direction her life had taken. Her mood was mellow and the things that had taken place since Veer came into their lives came to her mind. She compared her own life and Manyata's. J had tried every trick in the book to cause ripples in Manyata's life yet Manyata was happy while she herself was not.

J had a vision of 10 years down the lane; Manyata and Veer would be happily married with may be a cute kid or a two of their own and J would still be making petty schemes and by no means happy or content. No she wouldn't let it happen...

J thought hard and decided to mend her ways while she still had time on her hands. Once her sister and her husband-Jiju sa; though it was hard thinking about Veer like that- get back to Mumbai, she would ask their forgiveness.she knew that they would forgive her...

She got a call from an unknown number on her cell and answered it with suspicion.

"Hello, yeh Mrs. Akash verma ka number hai?" The voice at the other end asked.

"k-koun Mrs.- jee haan Main hi hoon boliye" she said with irritation.

"Madam, main ek private detective agency se bol raha hoon..Akash sir phone nahi utha rahe hain..unhone hume do logon par nazar rakhne ke liye kaha tha..hume mili hui nayi khabar ke anusar..."

He told her that Manveer were going on a honeymoon to shimla via Jaigarh for their honeymoon.

Why wait till they reach Mumbai? Let me go there and ask for forgiveness...thought J. she was too late to get a direct flight to shimla, so she booked a connecting flight to Jaigarh and from there she would go to shimla.

The detective managed to call up Akash again and told him all he needed to know and also told him that he had spoken to his wife about it.

"Maine Shimla me apne aadmi chod rakhe hain..apni behen aur Jijusa ko bacha sakti ho toh bachalo" Akash had told her; after she had informed him about her changed mind and changed plans.

Now here she was, in shimla to protect them. May be to repent her own sins along the way.

Manveer were home now and Manyata's mind was still taken by the fear. After much persuation Veer was able to feed a morsel of dinner to her. He checked her forehead for temperature, cool.

"Tumhe chal kar so jaana chahiye..tum zyada sochna band karo..kal hume aur jagah jaana hai na..chalo" he stood up to take her to bed.

The next moment the whole house was plunged into darkness as it was normal in that city to have 2-3 hours of power cut every day.

"Veer, mera haath nahi chodna..mujhe andhere se dar lagta hai" she whispered in the darkness.

"Tum do minute yahan baitho..main dekhta hoon ghar me candle vagera hai kya" he assured her and went to find them.

Minutes later light flooded the room with the huge candle Veer had found. The shadows of things around them looked like ghosts in the candle light.

There was quaint moon light falling in from the French window in the hall and it looked very pleasing. Manyata was fascinated with it and went near.

The sky was devoid of stars and a light breeze was blowing. The curtain blew and put off the candle. Now in the absence of candle light, the natural moon light looked even more appealing. "uff..candle bujh gayi..main phir se isko-"

"nahi Veer, candle ko bhool jao aur mere saath is chandni raat ka maza lo" she said.

She wasn't trying to be seductive at all but to Veer's ears it sounded like that. Her silhouette in the inky blackness looked inviting to him and her voice sounded like symphony. Desire rippled through him; head to toe. So much so that he could have carried her on shoulders and run away with her like a caveman if that's what was needed. Wait a sec! Where did this wild streak come from? May be Manyata's naughtiness was rubbing on him.

He hadn't realized that his legs had taken him where she was. A gust of strong wind ruffled her open hair and blew it across her face. Veer was annoyed. By their own accord his hands reached to tuck it behind her ears.

Did his hands stay for a second more than neccssary on her face? Trail of his fingers left her searing. Everything would've been better if only she had not opened her mouth.

"Mall me tum mujhse kuch kehne wale the na? maine tumhe bolne nahi diya.. Ab batao?" she said.

He thought for about 10 seconds and decided against it. No he wouldn't break the surreal moment even if it would last for only sometime.

"Bhool jao us baat ko" he said huskily.

"Huh?" was her reply.

"hum yahan kuch khubsurat lamhe(moments) bitane aaye hain..bhool jao sab kuch..bhool jao ki tum ek rajwadan ho..bhool jao ki tumhe andhere se dar lagta hai..bhool jao ki'" he didn't continue.

Manyata had a dreamy look on her face and she ran her palm from his forehead to chin. He repeated the same thing on her face and within seconds their breaths mingled and their olfactory organs were having a conversation. Thinking with clear minds was becoming harder and giving into sinful yearning was easier. Manveer chose the latter and the tranquil moon light graciously spread its charm on them.
