After half an hour Veer returned. Manyata was too hungry so he made her omelets and adrak wali chai(tea with ginger). She watched his every step with care so that next time when she tried to 'Help' him she wouldn't end up making a mess. She laughed to herself when she thought about it. This was so different; she was doing things she had never imagined she would do. Sure there weren't servants to cater her every need but there was a strange kind of tranquility here. She could be herself, just plain Manyata, with no strings attached. Suddenly she was glad she had tried to kill herself'otherwise how would she meet this strange hunk who was doing so much' wait a sec'Hunk?? Really!! Must have hit your head too hard when you fell off the bridge!!! She thought.

He brought two plates and set one of them in front of her. He began to eat from the other plate and after a minute noticed that she wasn't eating.

"Phir shuru ho gaye tere nakhre? Khale ise' Kyon nahi kha rahi tu(again you got started, didn't you? Why are you not eating)?" Veer said with irritation.

Manyata held up her hand with hurt finger in answer; with a solemn expression on her face. Oh yeah right! It's her right hand which was hurt'how could she eat now?

Veer was really soft hearted even if he was a crook and a petty thief. His friends often teased him about that saying he wasn't fit to be in a chawl. Here was the girl he had taken a liking to, how could he let her stay hungry? He thought of something and took a piece of omelet in his hand and held it in front of her mouth compelling her to open her mouth and have it.

Manyata hesitated. Veer could never stop surprising her. Was he going to feed her now? Something in her mind clicked, may be a memory.

"Meri chocolate mitti me gir gayi!!" she wailed.

"Koi baat nahi princess, hum dad se bolkar tumhare liye bohot saari chocolates mangvadenge, tab tak tum yeh khalo(Don't worry princess,I'll tell my dad to get you more chocolates, eat this one for the moment)" he offered her the one he was holding in his hand.

"Khaale chup chap'koi aur raasta nahi hai tere paas(shut up and eat this, will you?)" Veer said making an effort to hide his real feelings.

Manyata opened her mouth and he fed her with his own hands. With every morsel she took her respect for him grew. Alas! There must be some soul connection between us, may be a previous birth connection or something'she thought. Off late she had begun to notice the wrong things in guys like an open shirt button with a strong muscular body attached or a lock of hair that fell on the forehead in such a nice way, or may be not in all, just in a particular guy' She gaped at him open mouthed and didn't realize when he stopped feeding her.

"tu apun ko ghoor kyon rahi hai? Jaanta hoon apun bohot smart hai, handsome hai, pan tu toh us kameene par marti hai na? kya naam hai uska'(why are you staring at me? I know im smart and handsome but you were supposedly in love with that whats-his-name)"Veer fumbled for his name.

"Akash, akash naam tha uska'aur suno main tumhe koi ghoor nahi rahi thi ok, tum mujhe kisi bhi angle se smart aur handsome nahi lagte(Akash was his name, but excuse me I wasn't staring at you, and I don't think you are 'Smart' or 'Handsome')" Manyata said trying to be nonchalant.

"achcha toh bata apun tere ko kaisa lagta hai(So what do you think about me then?)?" he said in a very serious tone suddenly challenging her. Their eyes locked and they stared at each other. Manyata couldn't stand the heat in his eyes for long and lowered her eye lids getting a smirk from Veer. The situation had turned from sympathetic to funny to very serious. So was he trying to find out how she felt about him? If he could play mind games so could she. She wouldn't let him know that his mere looks had the capability of turning her mind into mush.

She talked about Akash instead making Veer grit his teeth in anger. She went on and on about all Akash did in last six months but nothing of that went to Veer's head. He was seeing all red in front of him. it bothered him that she was talking about Akash and not him. how lucky and unlucky was Akash!! Lucky because a girl of Manyata's stature had loved Akash, hell she was even ready to give up her life for him. but Akash being Akash could not see what he was throwing away the night he had driven Manyata out. Veer felt both pitiful and jealous about Akash. Probably she still loved Akash. *Sigh* if he could place himself in Akash's place for a day!! What he wouldn't give for that'.

He stood up right, straightened his clothes and followed the servant inside feeling smug. He had pocketed a rich girl with great difficulty and she was stupid. He could deal with her stupidity only if she had brought some cash with her that night. Did she really believe he 'loved' her? He patted himself on the back mentally for his acting skills. He said two words of kindness and she was ready to follow him to the end of the world. He hoped her family could be naive like her and he could extract as much money as possible from them for the 'information' he was going to give them. That night after he had thrown Manyata out, one of his scoundrel friends had called him secretly to tell that 'His Item' was being carried away by an unknown guy and that too in an unconscious state. From the last two days he was supplying every bit of their information to Akash.

Atlast they reached Mrinalini devi's office and Akash smiled at her in a 'know it all' way. "Batayiye'kya jaante hai aap Raj kumari ke baare me(tell me what do you know about the princess)? " DS asked him.

"ahan aise nahi pehle aap mujhe 50 lakh rupaye deejiye, phir main aap ko Manyata ka pata bataoonga(before I say anything, give me 50 lakh rupees, then I'll tell you about her whereabouts)" Akash said.

"theek hai, aap ka inaam aap ko mil jaayega par Raj kumari ke milne ke baad. Tab tak aap ko kuch nahi diya jaayega(fine, you'll get your reward, but after the princess is found)" DS said.

Akash thought about it for a moment and agreed. "Toh suniye, aap ki ghar ki izzat apni saari izzat bhool kar, ek anjaan ladke ke saath reh rahi hai ek chawl me'unhe ghar se bhagane me usi ladke ka haath hai,(so let me tell you the 'Honor' of your house, has forgotten her 'honor' and living with an unknown man in a chawl and he is the reason she eloped) " Akash said with a superior air.

"jo aap keh rahe hai kya woh sach hai? DS asked shocked.

"Jee haan solah (16) aane sach hai, aap mere saath chaliye main aap ko dikhata hoon(Yes, what I said is 100% true, come I'll show you)" Akash said.
