The sun filtered through the blinds, casting a striped shadow onto her face. Stretching slowly, she sat up, her mouth formed an 'O' shape as she yawned. The clock showed 7:00 am, but to her it felt like Noon, usually she woke up at that time, she didn't have the slightest clue why she woke up so early. Manyatha glanced down at Jai sleeping beside her and smiled, there was still some time their flight left at 11:00, she'd let Jai sleep. Throwing her legs over the edge of the bed Manyatha stood up and grabbed her towel, she slowly shuffled to her half empty closet and picked out a black anarkali style suit, it had a simple silver embroidery, the top half was a mess of silver spirals, the suit had long netted sleeves with silver cuffs at the end, she held up the suit and smirked, black, her least favorite color, yet the only suit that she'd forgotten to pack, "Just my luck" she muttered walking into the washroom. In the hot shower Manyatha felt all her fatigue get washed down the drain, she stepped out looking like an angel, her face was glowing, her eyes shone. The reason behind this? Today she was going back home, home as in India. Manyatha twirled around the room, she called for her juice and the newspaper, Manyatha sat down on one of the lounge chairs in her room, patiently waiting for her juice to arrive. "Your juice, Your Highness" said the worker. Manyatha nodded and held out her hand for the newspaper, for some reason the worker was hesitant to hand it to her. She glared at him, finally he gave it to her. She unfolded the paper, and began to drink her guava juice, at the same time she read the headline. "PRINCE UDAYVEERS SECRET FIANC".
Uday was rudely awaken by the sound of breaking glass. He blinked a few times until his vision became clear. Rolling off of his bed he noticed it was unusually quiet, he expected to hear Manyathas snoring, after all it was only 7:30 . Then where had that breaking glass noise come from? He decided to brush that topic aside, and take a quick shower. Uday was feeling adventurous today with his outfit, and he ended up wearing khakis red polo shirt, with khaki shorts to match. He came out of the shower in his shorts and was about to put on his shirt when, "What the hell is this?!" Manyatha hissed throwing a newspaper at him. Uday hadn't been expecting her or her surprise attack, "What is it?" he asked bending down and picking put the paper. "Read it" she hissed again."PRINCE UDAYVEERS SECRET FIANC, Lilly, Stacy, and Cristina tell all!" he read aloud. Uday secretly cursed himself, he should have known why those three girls had looked so familiar, they called themselves the Three Blondateers (which he found totally lame), they were always out to get him and ruin his reputation, after he'd dated all three of them, and broken their tiny hearts. The paper had a picture of him and Manyatha separate, but photoshopped to look like they were beside each other, and beside that was a photo of them hugging at the accident scene, how had they even gotten that shot? He looked up at Manyatha, she wasn't supposed to know of their Rishta, it was strict orders from Dadi Sahib, she had said, "I want to tell Manyatha when the time is right, by myself, if I don't tell her, she'll hate me forever". "It's just a rumor Manyatha" he threw the paper over his shoulder, and into the trash can behind him. "HOW?!" Manaytaha asked exsaperated. "They saw us hugging, in this country that's enough to make the headlines" Uday replied pulling his shirt over his head. He felt Manyatha jab his chest with her finger, "But it has a quote, from you". Uday popped out his arms and smoothed the wrinkles out of his shirt, "Oh-ho Princess, you know the media, they lie". Manyatha opened her mouth to say something but before she could Uday interrupted her, "Lets drop this matter" he moved closer to her, "What if I was your fianc?" he asked moving even closer, making Manyatha back up until she was touching the wall. "What would be so bad about that?" Uday braced his arms on the wall, trapping Manyatha. Confidently, looking into his eyes she said, "I'd be the unluckiest girl in the world". Uday leant backwards a little bit and noticed Manyathas outfit, he smirked, "How did you know black is my favorite color? Dressed to impress, eh?". Manyatha gave him a cute smile, "Honestly, I hate the color black". Uday chuckled, "I knew that Princess, you've always been a fan of green". Manyatha was surprised, "How'd you know that?". Uday pulled back his arms and stuffed his hands into his pockets, "Princess, you might not remember, but there was a time when you and I were best friends" he gave her a wistful smile. Manyatha was dumbstruck, she had never seen this side of Udayveer before! Manyatha gave him a brief nod and started towards the door, at the door she stopped and glanced over her shoulder towards Uday, he looked up from his phone and gave her a genuine smile. Manyatha found herself smiling back, "So this monster does have a heart" she thought.
The airport was way too crowded, "Good thing Vijay isn't here" Jai sniggered. Manyatha sighed, "Yea, but it'd be so much more fun if he went to India with us". Jai laughed, "I asked him to join us, he replied 'No way, why do you think I came here in the first place!' ". Uday meanwhile, was busy talking with their private jets pilot, "So I want everything perfect, it should be your best flight ever! Okay". The pilot nodded, "Yes sir". Uday gave him a pat on the back, "Good, because if anything goes wrong, I'll have you fired" he muttered giving the pilot a dark look. The pilot gulped and quickly scuttled away leaving the three alone. They climbed on board, Manyatha admired every part of the jet, it was quite spacious, it had luxurious leather seats, a large screen TV and a small kitchen with its own staff. Being with Jai always made her inner child come out and that's why Manyatha and Jai had a small spat about who gets to sit by the window, Manyatha lost, defeated she sat away from the window. Uday watched this whole facade with amusement, he thought of offering up his seat but then thought, there were other seats, why give up his?! The whole plane ride was boring, actually, for Jai and Manyatha it had been boring, for Uday, he'd done some thinking and discovered, he hadn't gotten anywhere closer to his goal. Manyatha still didn't like him! But after this morning he knew that he'd broke down some of her anti-Uday wall she had, to completely destroy it, he'd have to take a drastic step and become friends with her.
Manyatha stepped out of the jet and onto land. She and Jai spread their arms out wide and both chanted, "We're home!", while Uday stood off to the side conversing with someone on the phone. They'd just entered the airport, and were already beig showered with questions, there was an endless crowd of the media. All three of them were quite shocked, "Guess the fianc thing reached here too.." Jai whispered to Manyatha. "Just smile and wave" Uday whispered in Manyathas ear. Manyatha gave her brightest smile and her best "Princessy" wave. "Yuvraj sa, Yuvrani sa" they both twisted their necks to look a the group of police officers standing to the side. "Hello Officer Patel, have you found something?" asked Manyatha. She and Officer Patel were good friends, Patels real name was Shruti, Manyatha had told Shruti about the whole Akash incident before coming, Shruti nodded, "We did but...". "But what Officer?" asked Jai peeking around Manyatha. "Our find was quite...disturbing". "We don't care, we want to see what it is" said Uday and Manyatha at the same time. They looked up at each other, Manyatha blinked and he winked. She pinched him which only made him smile. "We want to show you right now but, we have orders from Rajmataji to let you rest first" Officer Patel explained. Manyatha nodded, that was understandable, Dadi Sahib had told her that she was going to hold a Homecoming party for Jai, on the same day they got back, if they went to the police station it would mess up the whole schedule. "Okay officer, how about tomorrow" asked Manyatha. "That will be good" Shruti gave her a small smile.
The police kindly escorted them out of the airport, there were two cars waiting for them. "Why two?" asked Jai. "Erm.." Uday began to explain. Jai caught on, "Oh it's okay, I have other people to visit, I'll see you guys later" she winked. Uday smiled, and Manyatha scowled. They sat in the car, the driver started the ignition. Uday put up a small screen between the back of the car and the front (it was electronically installed). "Why'd you do that?" asked Manyatha. "Manyatha I know we got off to a bad start" Uday began. Manyatha interrupted, "Yes, I know, and that's why Uday I want to say-". "Do you want to be friends?" they said in unison.
