A quick word before you read this, as you know this is a continuation of the OS the meeting I would like to keep it as short updates😊, don't forget to like this and comment as if I thought you're not so interested I might just stop updating it😊. Read and enjoy!! 😃😃

The second chance

"It seems like you are unable to take care of the issues your highness" The president of the Mahasaba was saying, she had eyes only for him who was leaning against his chair clearly very interested in the ceiling,

"If this continues we'll have to put your people under the care of someone else, are you sure you don't want to hand over your responsibilities, step down from the throne?"

"I just need another chance," She mumbled looking down, "A chance to make amends"

Her eyes found him again, his lips twitched in to a sneer when she said the words another chance like the words were meant for him, she didn't mean anything of the sort though,

"We need to discuss in to the matter" the president said,

"I don't believe in second chances," Meenakshi said looking at Manyata, "How can we trust someone who couldn't take any action on the first chance?"

"True" Someone agreed, yet she was looking at him, trying to read the look in his unreadable eyes,

"But by handing over the responsibilities devgar will be attached to some other state won't it?"

Abhimanyu another member of the mahasaba asked, it was the thought that shivered her, if that happens they'll lose everything, everything they had, everything they ever dreamed of…

"Yes" Meenakshi agreed, "Yet there's no point of a state that doesn't help its people"

"The problem with devgar is that it doesn't have a king" Someone said, their eyes found each other finally and the wide brown stared at the warm brown one, and slowly her look changed in to a begging, and a helpless stare, he watched her clearly not interested,

"Exactly," Meenakshi was saying "So we should hand it over to a capable and a suitable king",

"A capable ruler doesn't have to be a male" he said finally inviting a pin drop silence after his deep voice,

"I mean" He continued, "Look at her highness Mirnalini devi she's still a role model for a ruler yet a female, she ran this state without a king for ages," no one answered him, no one retorted as they all knew that he was saying the truth, "And" he took a moment to consider his sentence, his eyes still studying the confused expression in her face.

"I believe in second chances"

"Even two enemies can talk while a long drive your highness" His voice was cold and criticizing, she turned from the glass she was gazing outside to look in to a face she had known just too well in the past and had no connection in the present, pondering over her answer,

The voting of the mahasaba was disastrous, they agreed on the second chance, yet she was to be monitored through her attempts to solve this mess, and they had given him the responsibility to do that. Just for the sake of the friendship devgar and Jaygar had for years and the power Jaygar still held over the mahasaba.

"I'm not your enemy Uday"

She said silently, how many confessions did she owe him, to be just forgiven, why can't he just let her be? When she had been punished so much by her own people, people she loved or the people she trusted? Why can't he just give her a one single smile? After all the pain she had gone through?

"Maharaj Udayveer Singh"

He corrected her. "

Those days are long gone when you could address me Uday, and after all even though not enemies as you say we're not friends either"

She sighed at her own destiny making fun of her, she couldn't think of a response to give him and he continued knowing that his arrow had shot the target.

"Or I might just start calling you Mrs. Akash Verma"

He stopped abruptly seeing the look in her white face, her hands shook as she clutched in to the back seat to keep herself from breaking down. So that truth seemed to hurt her as much as it hurt him, he was glad to see the mention of that name wasn't so enthralling to her either.

"I'm not Mrs. Akash Verma anymore"

She said in a weak voice that was hard to be heard on a road so full of noises,

"And I'm not your Uday anymore either"
