I for one have told my parents (1) forget about suggesting a spouse for me. (2) not getting married until atleast 28.

Is it just me or do parents/society and people in general freak out more over their daughters getting married than their sons? For instance when I said ideally I'd get married at 28, my mom said " thats too old" What is it with the older generation thinking you need to be wedded and with a child on your arm before you hit 25 (when your a girl) 😕

Kudos to your mom- another thing I hate is when people= whether it's family or friends- who love to ask questions about your personal life and why or why not you havent done something. Gaah! It's part of our culture i guess- to be busy bodies, but at the same time its damned annoying. At least your mother told it as it is!

I am regretting my breakdown on my 24th birthday when I cried and told my parents I feel lonely, the following month they tried to set me up with a guy but it was no use as he barely communicated. Now I am on candiate number two which is my special friend. Gosh they want me to marry him like next month. If I had been with the first candiate I could have delayed it further as he lived in same state and country. I would say let me finish masters first. I regret not saying this earlier. The thing is my younger sister has a serious boyfriend now so now pressure is on me to settle down.
