She stood alone getting wet in the pouring rain. Worry, anxiety, tension etched on her face as she looked around to see anyone familiar which would take her home. But there was no one there. All her guards had vanished somewhere, leaving her alone in that dangerous rain. She didn't even have an umbrella with her to somehow protect herself from the rain, her clothes which were made of soft fabric were making her shiver as the wind mixed with cold rain hit her body.
She wanted to leave, to go somewhere safe, to be somewhere warm. But her feet seemed to be rooted on the spot. An unknown fear seemed to be restraining her movements. She felt that even if she took one single step, these strangers would crush her down to pulp.
She looked around again, helplessly. But there was no one around her. She had to move, she couldn't just stand outside the mall, drenched in rain. She had to take one step and find her car. That's all. The car was the safety spot for her which would take her home. She remembered that it was parked just across the road.
Just then, the angry thunder roared, scaring her more. Instinctively, she closed her eyes at the furious sound of nature; refusing to open them for more than a few moments. The rain kept falling and she kept getting wet.
When the echoes of thunder died out, she opened her eyes and blinked. Her breathe caught in her throat.
He was standing across the road, staring at her. She blinked again to make sure he wasn't an illusion. But he stood there rooted on the spot, waiting. Waiting for her.
Her heart seemed to burst out of her chest as she ran towards him. She didn't know from where did that strength come from suddenly. All she knew that she had to be with him. Being with him meant safety.
Without looking around for safety, she crossed the road in what seemed like a eternally long moment. Running towards him, she collided with him and wrapped her arms around him.
"Thank you..." she said as he gently rubbed his hands on her back to assure her that she was safe.
"Always..."
It's so crappy! But felt like writing it. Didn't do the idea or the inspired song any justice. Maybe I will...someday. Anyone who wants clarification for this, drop it by in the comments. Thank you.
