I can't stay more than two days without writing something. 🤣

Want to Meet You Once More

Maanyata looked at herself in the mirror, checking to see whether she was alright or not. Having made sure that her appearance was perfect, her satisfaction was immediately replaced by guilt: What's happened to you Monia? Since when did you become so vain?

Immediately dismissing the thought from her mind, she decided it was time she went down. Uday had already gone to greet the guests ages ago, and even Unnati had left about half an hour back. This left just her, alone in the room. In some earlier era, J might have been there, but her younger sister had packed her bags for Devgarh ages ago to recuperate from the very painful saga of Maanyata and Uday's engagement.

"Maanyata, oh Maanyata!" Vijay Bhai sang from outside. "Are you ready Jiji, or should I call CID and have them break the darwaaza?"

"I'm alive Vijay Bhai, thanks for asking," Maanyata snapped back, in the sassy tone which had lately been very effective in silencing him. Undeterred, he skipped down the hallway, singing something that suspiciously sounded like "Aaj Mere Dushman Ki Sangeet Hai, Aaj Mere Dushman Ki Sangeet Hai..."

Maanyata breathed a sigh of relief as soon as his voice faded. Just as she was about to check her saree again, a soft knock came on the door.

"Princess, can I come inside?"

Maanyata clammed up, shivering at the thought of her fiance. As if he was aware of her thoughts even from outside the door, Uday entered, bringing a draught of cold air into the room.

"Maanyata you don't look too well," he frowned, his smile replaced by concern as he looked at the paleness of her cheek.

"I'm fine," she breathed, "I'm ready to go down now." Chill re, Monia. What can the Bevda possibly do when there are guests waiting downstairs?

She gulped as he came closer, his eyes studying the shyness in her own. Even though consenting to marry Udayveer seemed like a distant dream, there was one uncomfortable reality: the fact that she would soon, gulp, have to share a bed with him.

As long as he had mocked her, smiled at her, been sweet to her, she had never thought of him as anything. But then, there was a darker side to him that had become a bit too familiar to her now: the side of him that was capable of hating her, of possessing her, and of being intimate with her even if he wasn't actually close.

Like now. He was standing at a pretty respectable distance, one or two metres away. There was nothing in his expression that indicated any kind of mischief or perverseness. And yet, even though he was so far away, she could feel his fingers playing with her hair, trailing down her nape, and running over her shoulders...

"Maanyata?" he asked, "should I cancel the party?" She steadied herself. "You look even worse," he said. "Maybe I should call Doctor Saab."

"Udayveer, I said I'm fine," she insisted, glaring at him. "Please, no need to be extra-concerned about me okay?" He looked taken aback for a moment, then smiled. His vicious princess was back. "We're alone now Maanyata," he said smiling. "Say whatever you want now...Halkat, Bevda...when you go in front of the press I won't allow anything, haan nahin to," he smirked.

"No it's okay," she said, sulking. He laughed as he came over, a gentle laugh that didn't boom out the way Brijraj's did, but carried itself along on the breeze, and made her experience a tingle in her skin which was a bit too pleasurable for her to like.

He patted her cheek, thinking to himself how she was still a child even though she had changed in so many ways. It was as if God had preserved his childhood Maanyata inside her so that even after all the ways in which life's situations had molded her, she would always be the best friend that little Udayveer had treasured.

"Let's have a little moment to ourselves," he whispered, wrapping his arms around her waist. She swallowed hard as his face came closer, nudging her nose. "I'm tired of playing so good in front of everyone." She turned her face away, but it only made him squeeze her tighter. She sat down on the bed, closing her eyes as his lips moved over her neck, wondering why the heck was her body fitting so comfortably into him instead of jerking away.

To her delight, her Blackberry beeped. "Phone," she said hastily. "Pick it up," he encouraged, his hands brushing the pallu of her saree away from her shoulders.

Her mouth made a little 'o' then tightened. "Uday," she said firmly,"you're disgusting. Really, how can you even think of doing this now?"

He scowled as he got up, clenching his fist. "Everyone knows what's going on between us Maanyata. Everyone knows that we can't keep our hands off each other. Everyone-except you."

She turned her face away and accepted the call, not wanting to look in his face, for she knew that the hurt look in his eyes would make her feel guilty. For what he had said was true. She had tried her best to convince herself that it was lust, that she was only attracted to his outwardly power and charm, that it was only his regal good looks that had inspired these feelings inside her. But there was a little red-colored part inside her that knew who he truly was, and the horrors of horrors, that little red-colored part not only just wanted him, but literally ached for him.

"Hello?" she whispered into the phone. This time, she was aware that the fingers that were caressing her shoulders were real.

"Hello Monia? It's me, Akash."

She froze. The only warmth left in her now was the part of her back where Uday was gently massaging her.

"I know I told you that I never wanted to see you or talk to you again. But now..now I'm regretting it Monia. The truth is...I was a coward."

She closed her eyes, a little tear trickling down her cheek. As Uday's lips rested on that same spot however, the tear immediately evaporated, and a streak of pleasure shot out throughout her.

"I didn't have the strength to fight them Monia. But now I'm braver. I've got another promotion, and this time I'm sure I won't lose my job. But please, don't marry that Udayveer."

"Maanyata? Udayveer?" Dadisa called out from outside. "I know you two want some time alone, but the guests are waiting."

"Coming, Dadisa!" Uday shouted. He sighed, pulling Maanyata away from his embrace. "Sorry princess, but we'll have to do this later. Let's go."

"Please Maanyata, I want to meet you once more," he whispered.

"Maanyata?" Uday frowned. "Who's this person?"

"Sorry, I don't want any insurance policies. I'm quite safe," Maanyata said firmly, cutting the phone.

Then looking back at Udayveer she said, "Some kind of agent, wanting me to ensure my 'second life'. I told him it lies with someone else.'

wow, I loved this, Megz.
I am so glad that you can't live without writing, because I can't live without reading😊
Coming to the OS, I am so glad that J packed her bags & had left. And ManVeer's scene was just... it gave me a tingly feeling. How passionate & romantic. I would really want this to happen in the show.
Also, i was happy that Akash was a coward in this OS, because nowadays he's trying real hard to be a hero😆
