Country irrespective, let it be any instance standing in a queue or boarding a train/plane etc...

Being the host country's citizens should we provide favors to guests/foreigners over our country mates ? Life giving them way in a queue to go ahead ... etc..

If NO, then why do we see instances of foreign nationals being treated with advantage over normal citizens in south asian countries ? (if you have not experienced it just ignore the post..for rest hope u understand the poitn am trying to make here)

Oh I understand exactly what you mean.....!

I have to say, that if I saw soemone foreign struggling witht he language, espec someone who originates form Asia and may share ther same or similar mother tongue as me, I always jump in to help.

Cant stand some individuals who depite seeing the person is having difficulty, understanding English for example, continue to use a language that is anything but Plain English. Just a power trip.

Having said that, I hate it in India when I see Westerners treated like royalty - even though that "royalty" may treat them like scum back home.

I put it down to the days of the Raj.....ther mentality has never left India....thay cant help themselves but fall over anyone with a "Gora/Gori" chamadi....

If you do favors to a fellow desi, you are almost certain the fellow desi is going to treat you like dirt

If you do favors to a foreigner, you might get a big tip or some respectable treatment in return

Hmmm what would one do, difficult choice right 😉

Hmmmm...you put a nice twist to this whole scenario. I agree on the firang giving a big tip but not too sure on the respectable treatment from them.

Okay, lets not talk about customer/business owner relationship. Even during non-commercial interactions, desis back home usually go gaga over the gora firangs and bend backwards to accomodate them....kyoon bhai?

you are bound to get a thank you from a firang,

you are going to get the attitude from the desi that I deserved this, "why did it take you so long to realize it?"

still a difficult choice😉

you know what...I actually find myself agreeing with you here. Even though I know where exactly the preferential treatment for firangs stems from, your argument can be used to camoflage it😊

Treat everyone equally irrespective of how they will treat you back. Simple enough.
