Hey guys!
How are you? Well I'm sure you heard about the Jodha Akbar controversy. If you havn't, heres a little:

There has been riots across many cities. Why? Because historians believe that Jodha was Akbar's DAUGHTER-IN-LAW!

And now riots such as blowing up the posters and what not.

Acting like this in a civilized society, is that right?

On the news, they also mentioned how would Ash feel if she did a movie with Amitabh Bachchan.

So there are some questions. And post your views!

It's become like a routine any hyped movie, controversy created are back to business.

This is happened with most of the historical movies, well for audience who see it just a movie nothing else who cares...

Worst part is dragging Actor and Actress... what have that got to do with it...

nice ot learn the Animal activists are on thier toes these days...someone tell them to take care of stray dogs / cats in every gali first before focussing on horse on 70mm.

I am watching the movie tonight. Actually, I am not a big fan of Hrithik or Ash; but I love historic epics.

Well there were two women known by Jodhaa. The real Jodhabai was Akbar's daughter in law. She was the daughter of Udai Singh of Jaipur. However, Hira Kunwari who is Akbar's wife was referred to Jodha by many people, due to modern day historic interpretation errors.

From reading the storyline of the movie it does not appear they are talking about Jodhabai daughter of Udai Singh of Jaipur. It appears that they have used the incorrect historic name for Hira Kunwari - who has been accidentally labeled as Jodha.

So yeah Akbar is not romancing his daughter in law. He is indeed romancing his wife. (Although I will know more once I watch the movie)

The whole ado is accidentally naming his wife after his daughter in law. Much ado about nothing. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

In Troy the intertwined the characters of Cassandra and Briseis into one single character Briseis. Let alone the fact that Troy itself was considered a myth once. It is time we appreciated movies for what they are, we are never going to accurately be able to recreate history.

I have not seen the movie yet. Most likely I will see it this wknd. I wish Abhishek was Akbar instead of Hrithik. I think HR does not suit the role of Akbar from what I see in preview. Again this is my preference 😳.

Here what I found in Wikipedia.

Biography

Hira Kunwar, Akbar's first Rajput wife was the eldest daughter of Raja Bhar Mal of Amber.[2] She was also the sister of Bhagwandas, and the aunt of Man Singh I of Amber, who later on became one of the nine jewels (Navaratnas) in the court of Akbar.[3]

Hira Kunwari (her maiden name) married Akbar on January 20, 1562 at Sambhar near Jaipur.[4] She was Akbar's third wife and one of his three chief queens. She was 22 days elder than Akbar. Akbar's first queen was the childless Ruqaiyya Begum, and his second wife was Salima Sultan, the widow of his most trusted general, Bairam Khan. After her marriage, Hira Kunwari was given the title Mariam-ul-Zamani ("Mary of the Age").[5]

She is said to have been politically involved in the court until Nur Jahan became empress. According to Thomas Roe, she was involved in active sea trade and owned a ship named Ramiti which carried pilgrims to Mecca. Her quarters of the palace was decorated with pictures of Lord Krishna. She also kept cheese or paneer to offer to the lords in her room.

In 1586, she arranged a marriage of her son, Prince Salim (later Jahangir), to Man Singh's sister Princess Manmati, who was the mother of Prince Khusro.

Hira Kunwari died in 1611. As per her last wishes, a vav or step well was constructed by Jahangir. Her tomb, built in 1611, is on the Delhi-Agra National Highway, near Fatehpur Sikri. The Mosque of Mariyam Zamani Begum in Lahore, Pakistan was built in her honour.

Promos look good and reviews are great mostly, would love to see this historic movie. 😊

As everyone knows, there are 3 versions of truth and history has many versions of truth..written mostly by victors..😉 Don't know why people take movie version of history seriously. 😕 like RTH said enjoy and appreciate the movie while gaining some historical perspective to the story.
