Do you agree with the quote? I do agree with the quote...somewhat. The present has an eerie way of reflecting the past. We move forward a few steps and then back one step. But when we look back, we realize that even though the change has been slow, and hardly feels like a change, we've still moved forward in the end.

Do you think it is particulary true in the following contexts or not?
~ The Indian Political System
All claims of being a different political party fall flat when it comes to attaining power, coalitions are made, broken, no permanent enemies or friends!
Dont know much about the Indian political system so I can hardly comment on that. But political systems in other countries too follow a similar trend.
~ Expectations from Women in society
You could be the CEO of the largest comapny of the world but still may be required to cook once in a while and will be held responsible for how your children turn out to be!
Yup. Even though women are taking over more and more job positions that were previously dominated by men, it still doesnt change the fact that a lot of women are still nurturers at heart...and even though we may have made huge leaps in attaining equality in the workplace, it doesnt change the fact that at the end of the day when we go back home, we are still very much the nurturer in our families. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
~ Parenting / bringing up children
When you look at other people bringing up children you always think you will do it differently...buty you end up bringing up your kids more or less the same way like your parents did!
Dont know about this one. Havent raised a kid yet...dont think it's gonna happen anytime soon. But if it does...I guess there are a few ways in which I'd raise the kid different from how my parents raised me, but there are also a LOT of things I'd want to retain from my own childhood. Like I said, a few steps forward, one step backward. In this case, maybe a lot of steps backward. I love how my parents raised me...and I turned out okay...I think...lol...so there's not a whole lot I'd change.
~ Our obsession with cricket
When we lose, we vow never to see another match on the telly...but we find ourselves plonked on the couch whenever teh teh next game is on air!
This I dont get. And that too, cricket of all sports?! Just flip the channels and watch basketball instead. 😆😆
Any other situtaions/ context where this quote holds true?
I think the fashion world too is another place where the past creeps into the present...trends from the 80s make their way back into the present...like platform shoes...
