Eye-contact???....For what exactly???....😕

Maybe I'm missing something here, but mate,if "eye-contact" connotes incessant staring, then better not make such "eye-contact"...In India, staring is common, people get started at everywhere on roads,bus-stops,airports..EVERYWHERE🤢...Step out of home in a low-rise or in a bellyshirt or in cropped tops or in shorts, people stare SO much(either out of disgust or out of lasciviousness) that one feels extremely uncomfortable.....Ditto with some desis living in the States.....Nobody likes being started at,its basic manners NOT to stare because the person who is stared at finds it exceedingly uncomfortable and unnerving

One needs to make "eye-contact" while one speaks to others, the prelude to a conversation isn't unceasing, unending goggling...By starting, one simply gets off on the wrong foot....It's totally off-putting,staring is!!!

If "looking down upon", implies that an Caucasian American does not consider an "Indian" as one of his own, then I'm afraid,I have to agree he is right....Just as we Indians can NEVER consider a white fellow as one of us,the vice-versa also holds true....If a white treats an Indian infernally, then that is racism, which is a wholly different topic altogether!!!As you rightly said, racism isn't confined to the States alone, therefore the entire purpose of this debate is rendered void, because the premise of this thread is the alleged disparaging attitude of the Americans towards the Indians, and not racism, which is a global issue!!!>..There is no excuse for racism, and the point which everyone misses is that it's not the victim, but is the perpetrator on whom the joke really is!!!

For thier own benefit, high time THEY realize this fact., if there was no gain..they would have kicked our a* out.. to add is they themselves were immigrants.

You're cent percent correct....Every American KNOWS this, and maybe even privately concurs, but is too arrogant, egoistic and pompous to acknowledge the fact openly....That's the individual's ignorance and stupidity, and the only one who is affected by such foolish denial is the individual himself

Thats the whole problem, if the statement was people ae employed/acklnowledged becuase of thie skills would have made more sense then the wod Indians, they are doing no FAVOR on us... benefits are being reaped....

Agreed,it's a mutually beneficial system..Indians aren't doing the US any favours, and vice versa.....Digressing slightly, being brutally honest here, tell me,don't MOST desis think they are a tad bit superior to an average American, don't we consider ourselves more intelligent, more efficient.....😉...Desis aren't invariably innocent either!!

..BIG deal 😛 STOP it and see the consequences.. I say.BTW have lived and known enough people here, I agree not all but there are sections who need to realize...when u dig deep these so called Ameicans have descdants from Italy/Russia/Germany/England.. what the heck if we landed in this land lil late😃...

STOP WHAT???The outsourcing???😕.....My friend, that's ridiculous...We both have agreed that this scenario is MUTUALLY beneficial, mutually propitious, mutually advantageous, mutually expedient....Why is it that so many desis do not want to go back to India??...Most people are selfish to some extent, they want the best for themselves, and the Indian luxuries cannot hold a candle to the luxuries that the United States offers...No power cut, better roads and infrastructure, healthier and cleaner environment.....A miserable excuse for a professional uses racism as his defense mechanism to prove his superiority to his delusional self!!!...The root cause of racism,as I see it,is insecurity,a general bitterness towards life and escapism!!!

Racists do not discriminate based on when the immigrant arrived in the US,the blacks have been in the US for centuries, even they have to confront racism....Reiterating,racism is not a problem confined to the US aone, wherever there are close-minded,chauvinistic Caucasians, racism is prevalent

Racism is problem alrigh, perhaps the most pressing reason fo this debate.. Well! I appreciate your POVs but going foward would just be a merry go round... lets wait and watch how things shape up😊

Yes,this debate is solely and completely about racism!!!..Racism is the de facto root of the problem, the GLOBAL problem...

Analogously, some white might not like you....Why bemoan about not being universally liked, when we ourselves do not like all and sundry.....

If one is holding out for universal popularity, then I'm afraid, one would always be unhappy and disgruntled...We cannot expect every single person we meet to like us,just as we do not like everyone whom we meet...Fair enough, isn't it??

Well said Raj...👏 In most metro cities , you will find ethnic neighborhoods - china town, little Italy and little India, middle eastrern /jewish, latino/ black towns. In fact borough of queens in NYC is made up 70% of immigrants from more then 80 countries. I must say that they are viewed differently by main stream population (made up of Irish/german/english descent which blended to make up what is now american culture) but not looked down upon. The fact is each immigrant community can survive in USA and not have to change a bit , not even learn the language and pursue the american dream..!!!

Yeah aaj Raj ko kya ho gaya..😉 .. I am pleasantly surprised by your verdict and seeing beyond the obvious..👏

Honesty flourishes when we don't have to defend our basic right to freedom of expression.
