This isn't my 'view' , it is a verifiable 'fact' .

attack on Religion >> You mean to say that the pakistani terrorists arent using jehad & religion as a tool ? This isn't my 'view' , it is a verifiable 'fact' .
I didn't say anything about ISLAM in general.

attack on member >> There was none.

attack on moderator >> Time to grow up "little princez" 😉

You have been warned already....please do not cause trouble here. What you are calling "facts" was not presented by you as facts, your choice of words were directly attacking pakistan and one of the member's comments. Now, you have deliberately made comment which you and I both know is a direct attack on me. If you are here to cause trouble please leave. this is in reponse to the mod notes earlier.

i think lilprincess is wrong. let's see why-

1. if US were to ever attack Pakistan, it would be because of the perception that violent jihadi elements find shelter there. that's the topic premise right there. why else would the US attack Pakistan? to take over the economy?😊

2. in the event of a US strike, what happens to such jihadi elements would have a bearing on what later happens with india and pakistan. after all, isnt the avowed aim of some of these groups the destruction of other states?

3. trigger-happy fatwa announcers present very similar issues. at least in terms of perception, does not allow people to make peace when they think someone is very trigger-happy

4. if clerics and terrorists can use those terms without hurting the religious sentiments of people they claim to represent, why should others using it hurt sentiments? i didnt see people denounce those clerics and terrorists and say they were hurting religious sentiments, or did we miss something?

5. i respect the spiritual meaning of jihad, whether in islam or in any religion. but i cant respect how certain people are using it to advance their own ends. if bringing up jihad even in such a context is hurtful, maybe i can understand why progress is so difficult.

bottom line for me, it might be hard to have an honest open debate if we will censor the use of even very mainstream, very topical words. sorry if this bothers someone.😊

since the taliban are such a pain in the neck and since they are using certain words, shouldn't we be looking into their intent when they use those words? and their intent, lemme assure you, is not spiritual jihad when they use/ misuse the word "jihad".😛

lets get back to the topic

the question was:

"If US decides to invade Pakistan, will there be any negative impacts on India. Do you think Pak will try to destabilise India rather than saving their own rear from US???? "

First of all, I highly doubt US will invade Pakistan. Although not as strong as the US, Pakistan is a lot stronger than the other countries US invaded/plans to invade (Afghanishtan, Iraq, Iran). Also, Bush and Musharraf seem to be cooperative of one another.

If it does happen, I dont think it will effect India. The only reason US would consider invading Pakistan would be because of the terrorists harbored there. This is mostly in the northern region (the area bordering afghanistan) and India is on the other side so it wouldnt really effect India.

As for Pakistan trying to destabalise India if the situation rises, it seems totally illogical. Why would a country in trouble put in an effort to harm another country when they can use the same amount of time, effort, money, weaponary etc to save themselves and get out of this mess.

wonder why kargil happened then😉

wonder why so many pakistani regulars were found dead in kargil

wonder why clinton had to summons sharif and ask him to shape up and stop terrorism against india and the pakistani misadventure into kargil.

wonder why we keep catching pakistani nationals/ ISI agents with fake indian currency all the time

wonder why all the support is given to terrorist camps set up to fight in JK.

wonder why musharraf felt the need to say that pakistan provides "moral support" to "freedom fighters" in JK. btw, what is moral support?😉

yes why would Pakistan spend so much of it's existence at war or trying to destabilize India? beats me. sure seems to be coming back to bite Pakistan now.😉

Overall, I pray that such a situation never arises. Not only because it will cause a lot of unnecessary deaths and destruction but also because me, my family and others in the same situation will get stuck between. I consider myself just as American as Pakistani. I can never go against either country. Supporting one at the expese of the other would be impossible for me.

oh, if it came down to terrorists being killed in pakistan by US strikes or terrorists doing their thing in india, i'd pray the reverse.😉

If US attacks pak :

  1. It is an issue of High Concern to India also
  2. US may not attack PAK for economic benifits as told by some estemeed member😉
  3. US may attack PAK to find any terrorists who might be living there happily in the viel of religion.Hmm! The terrorists who were very respectfully taken by former then minister Jaswant Singh from India ,to Afghanistan, during that flight hijack case ,happily moves with lots of honour in Pak.😕
  4. US may proceed further....to Kashmir to eliminate those terrorists
  5. So US takes complete control of Azad Kashmir, entire Kashmir
  6. It will not get any terrorists
  7. BUT the primary motto of US gets fulfilled.....
  8. The primary motto of US is to have its strong base in South Asia.Kashmir is ideal location. From Kashmir it can create problem to Russia,it can create problem to China ,who are its cold war club members.
  9. Ultimately, its a big loss to India and Pakistan. So India and Pakistan should'nt never let any other come in between their issues.
  10. Whether we are agree or not India and Pakistan are like siblings with differences. They can patch up their differences at any point of time. Its not a hypothetical situation or dream.

Cheers,

Mythili

Siblings? Yaheen par hum emotional hokar maar kha jaate hain. Seems that we forgot the teachings of Bhagvadgita...bhool jaao ki kaun hai saamne!

I don't US cares for any international reaction as such bec'se they can afford to. Their aim is to get AQ leadership and I think there is a growing feeling in Washington that they need to take matters in their own hands.
