It is said in hindi " Subhah ka bhula agar shaam ko ghar wapas aa jayee toh ussey bhula nahi khehtey"

English - If someone does a mistake and seeks forgiveness then his mistakes should be forgiven forever, mistake won't be repeated.

Do you believe person seeking forgiveness for a faulty act is admitted the fault/isClean and won't repeat the same act again?

May be - May be not. The person could be genuinely asking forgiveness or faking it. It is tricky. But we can always hope for the best.

One thing is sure though that we would be wary of that person for sometime and personally it is easy for me to forgive but a bit difficult to forget.

It also depends upon the kind of mistake the person has done. But if one feel that the person asking for forgiveness is genuie and hearfelt then one can forgive him/her but one may not be able to forget it and will make the forgiver cautions in future in regards to that person.

Maybe he would, maybe he wont. It depends on the person. If the person is really guilty and shamefull about what he did, which is highly unlikly since we all say sorry for the sake of saying it, he wont commit the mistake again. 😊

no forgiving habitual criminals 😆 .. okay P.J.

everyone said it already and I concur.

nature of 1st crime is essential criterium before making a decision. I would never leave my young child with someone who was convicted of child abuse of any sort, even though he vows to have changed his ways now.. 😊
some "subah ka bhulas" will never win back the entire trust.

I was about to quote this, and see that already quoted 😊

As many have already said, person doing a mistake for the first time could have done it unknowingly and hence does always deserve a 2nd chance, after showing him/her the correct direction... Next time if he/she repeats it knowingly, it becomes an offence... I would atleast become skeptical and stay away from such people 😳

Well there is an English proverb that says To Err Is Human. None of us are perfect and mistakes can be made. However, it depends too on the type of mistake i.e. a spouse cheating. In this case the temptation will always be there to cheat again. I feel a mistake can be forgiven albeit with patience and understanding. It also depends on the extent of a mistake........ as sometimes mistakes can leave deep wounds that may be difficult to heal. How does one forgive an alcoholic spouse who abuses the spouse and swears not to repeat the mistake again? This trait will definitely be repeated.

Also sometimes its easy to forgive............ but its hard to forget and this would make one always on their guard. Just my POV.😛
