Actually, I am so happy today. We were talking over the PM and things started fitting in...and lo and behold...we grew up in the same mohalla....did not know each other though...but we caught up on the neighborhood etc.....it was a very warm fuzzy feeling😃

gudgattey are made of gud.....it's kind of like a candy....hard to explain DB but tastes yummy. We used to buy them from the khomcha wala in front of our school. They are golden to dark brown in color...kind of like caramelized jaggery😊

gudd(jaggery)+amba(here it is raw mango,kachha aam,v call it 'kairi')=gudamba

ok detail recipe,here u go.......

peel kacha aam n slices kar le........pot me oil garam karo,add little zeera(cumin seeds) n pinch of hing(asafoetida powder)........ab isme thoda si red chilli powder,salt n jaggery(as per ur taste,if u like sweet more,add equal quantity of mango n jaggery)add kare.................halka sa paani add kare n pot ka lid bad karke 10-15 min.pakaye n serve it.................................gudamba is ready😃😛..............

In Punjab gudamba is similar to mango panna.

In eastern UP, it's like a liquidy suji halwa which uses gud (jaggery) for sweetening and raw mango is added for bringing a hint of tanginess. People usually have it with poori or paratha at breakfast.
