laptop vs. desktop ? - mac vs. ibm ?

The Bottom Line It is possible (but maybe not feasible) to survive with ONLY a laptop computer.

while both have different different advantages & disadvantages

advantages:
laptop---- Compact,Portable & Access to wireless network
desktop---Less expensive,Larger Screen, Real keyboard and mouse, Easier to upgrade

at the same time disadvantages:
laptop--Costs more for less technology,High maintenance cost & Security risk
desktop---Not easy to take home for breaks & Takes up more space in the room

I love my Powerbook the most. I also love my Imac. They are super-stylish. Never been a PC person, never will be. My mac craze is a bias of mine not be to questioned / taken seriously 😆 It started in days when Macintosh used to have much better software for some particular illustrations. Now they make those for PC too.. But Mac is a mac is a mac 😳

The only major advantage laptop has is that you can carry it anywhere. Otherwise desktop scores over it!

Desktops are cheaper, easier to use, easily upgradable, less failure prone etc as compared to laptops.

yes, come-on (quad core/4gb ram 14 inch screen) what more do you need, laptops hopefully will offer it by the holiday season, desktops will be dead, anyway laptops oversold desktops this year, sign of times

how much are mac's for quad core/4gb ram?😆😆

Did I say you can even get a wireless optical mouse with a laptop😉, why does anyone need a mouse when there is a keyboard😕

https://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070321-future-of-comp uting-includes-more-laptops-than-desktops.html

The market share of notebook computers is poised to overtake desktop market share in the near future, according to market research firm IDC. The firm expects that desktop volume will continue to grow through 2011, but only by "low, single-digit" rates, and that portable computers will make up over 50 percent of all client PCs by 2011.
