Why are asians so good at Math? - Page 2

Its not bout nationality actually…I think its about they way you are taught…
While I m not sure bout Russia, Japan or any other country for that matter..but I do know of our own system…as in India..we are made to learn these stuff (tables n formulas) by heart from the early classes itself… where as my cousin who was studying in US… was taught the simple tables (from 1-5) only in the 6th grade… also till the 12 standard (+2) we were not allowed to use calculators… which obviously made us count on our fingers.... whereas I don't think the same happens in US…

I m not sure if this is true…that "Asians are good at maths" but if it is…I think its maybe b'coz of our system, our syllabus and the way of teaching…but not on nationality.. also it depends on each person's mind (aptitude as mentioned earlier..) not every asian is born genius…some have it…some don't…irrespective of their nationality…

i think the reasoning power pf asians is more. and they r more intelligent

I never understand generalisation.I am an Asian and am not good at maths.

its not 100% but most of them r that what she means to say and an average student of maths(asian) is also beter than and avg student of math(non asian) thats what she means to say

in my opinion asians r good in math, and even more intelligent in mathematics wen u compare them wid countries of north america and europe... her in the USA, i wud say asians r way ahead in math than americans... asians tend to pick up sciences faster than others and im not only taking about indians, pakistanis, chinese, japanese, etc... who live in asia itself but those that r living here as well, not all, but mostly one can say that asians tend to be better at math than others sititng in an open classroom, at least in my opinion from wat i have seen i think its true and thats cuz from the very start asians r taught in a more strict way, as sciences r focused on a lot by asians as compared to other subjects.

Well... I myself have always been in top set for maths and I enjoy it too...
