See I'm not against cancelling things which are problematic in the first place but this boycotting entire organisations or commodity coz someone involved in it made a statement u don't like..is it correct.

Bollywood Actors and Movie get cancelled everyday some examples i found really wrong were:

Cancel Chappak after Deepika went to JNU or cancel Aamir Khan movies after his statement about increasing intolerance in the country....people have every right to criticise these actors if they don't agree with their thoughts but then why cancel their movies...they've been already shot these actors have already taken home their paycheck there's nothing wrong with the film itself, so who will suffer now the rest of the team involved in the film , PVR that had them on....these movement don't last long enough to make any difference to the career but these short term Boycott movements often impact people who weren't at fault anyway.....with Padmavat even, although some section had problem with the product so it made sense but the violence that ensued was problematic

Moving away from bollywood

Any one remembers the Tanisq ad controversy for their Ekvatam campaign....they had to increase security on their stores and BoycottTanishq trended all over

The JK Rowling controversy...I mean she's absolutely wrong for saying what she did but then the Harry Potter series has translated larger than life and there are so many other people involved with various HP related stuff ,this was a part of my childhood . Is it correct to cancel an entire franchise over one opinion,

there's so much more to these things than an individual and all of us do say some seriously problematic stuff but is it okay to ostracize someone for something they said forever

Please Do share your opinions nd add in examples if u can recall

Guys please come and give ur opinions on this topic

I would love to listen to ur views

Star Plus should have been cancelled a year ago

And Zee tv where every show has two women one man troupe.

Parineeti should have been cancelled...

I can list shows there! But seems like businesses aren't being affected with regressive content there as much as in Bollywood.

I support this trend. I feel it's high time Bollywood and these ad agencies realize public will no longer take anything they show or baseless statements they make.

If your watching it only for entertainment, you will anyways go and see. If not calling out wrong is really needed. I just watched Adipursh yesterday and they made really fun of our epic Ramayana. But after this cancel thing makers are removing some dialogues.

Not everyone watch movies, shows or ads for actors , their chemistry. Yes it's fiction but I want to relate to story. I want to see reality. Who wants to watch hypocrites on screen who preach something offline and show themselves as hero on screen.

Of course, trps saare aate hi regressive content se hain...we cant make ITV progressive until we make viewers minds progressive

I think this two sisters fighting for one guy trend started with Swaragini on Colors, then Star Plus started copying it.

Many people unnecessarily freaked over this ad boycotting it and accusing of targetting only one religion which makes no sense. By doing this they have insulted not only all the women who faced this but also who may face this in future during Holi.

This boycott culture needs to end or at least not allowed for silly reasons. Last year, it was shocking when a Twitter hashtag #ArjunKapoorRandwaHai was trending after he said that something needs to be done on movies being boycotted. I was thinking what sanskar the parents of these people have given them that they have no shame in using such words for a public figure without any big reason. These people should be banned from Twitter.

Unfortunately, not facing someone and/or consequences through expressing oneself in social media had a very negative impact on the language used...and not only on the language... I guess that a research also would tell you how much negativity as such has increased.

I did not got properly you are talking against whom. Arjun or the ones doing that nonsense trend?

I am not at all a fan of Arjun because many actors are better than him but no actor deserves such a trending with horrible words. I mean what has he done to deserve that?

Bold: Yes the negativity has increased too much in the last few years. People get touchy even for silliest reasons. Today only I came across an instagram post on Dara Singh which also mentioned he got the title of Rustam-e-Hind. While almost everyone praised him as a wrestler and his achievements there were a couple of freaks who said we all should not accept him accepting a title with Muslim name by arguing in an idiotic way. There are several Twitter handles who spread negativity on Bollywood by picking up random movies and it's scenes and analysing negatively on how Bollywood insulting and ruining their culture by targetting only their religion. I don't understand why can't they take any story as story or character as character.

Not a part of canceling or boycott trend bcoz I barely watch movies or still not earning to buy Tanishq jewelry.

There r few people on SM who do boycott and most Indians don't even know about it.

These boycott doesn't cause harm rather make people curious and works in favour as bad publicity is a publicity.

Also if DP was doing a movie on Acid Victim the least she could do was not joining and supporting JNU protests

She can't act as hypocrite that for money she will do 2 extreme things and people has not even right to have their stand.

If she actually cared about sensitivity of the subject matter of the film she would not have supported that protest which was anti-national, breaking the public transport and causing problems for common citizens.

Boycott culture is just a SM thing and majority of Indians don't even represent them. Har din kuch boycott ya cancel ho raha hain & wahi log 2 din baad bhul jaate hain what they boycotted.
