Just could not sleep because on asking why do desi parents think unless you are a doctor or an engineer, you are dumb and not smart. Why is the salary more important than finding job you love? a great salary provides a great lifestyle but ending with a job you hate is worth the hassle . You should have a stable salary but does money constitute your entire happiness?

I want one of those jobs where people ask, "Do you actually get paid for doing this?

Why do desi parents equate education with intelligence? Both are two different subjects. You can have a degree but be dumb.

Why does esp. desi parents want their child to in the profession as everyone else?

I find myself asking this question every day because my mother thinks unless I do go into IT ,I am a failure ..

You can ignore if u guys want.. will delete it later .

Personally, I think failure should be an option...or ...or It's standard equipment.😃

of course failure is always an option. Its just that one by one people write you off..after that.. and if you can live with that.. no one can stop you for sure...from the misery that follows...indian population has made life-style a rat race where 1000s of people fight for one spot.. if our population could be brought down to a 1/3 of what it is now.. no parent will ever force their child.. or equate anything... cause they know there is a future..

statistically speaking, your mom is right. You are likely to be a failure if you don't get a good education etc. Of course you can be uneducated and still do well. The odds are not that good however. The fact that so many uneducated people seem to be successful is simply because a lot more people are uneducated and some shit will rise to the top, however shitty they might be.😆

second, education will generally make you moderately successful. When you are uneducated however, you can go for broke because you have no safe jobs to lose and once in a while you end up doing extremely well, far more than the educated person in his/ her safe job can do.

third, you've got a bit of a wrong notion here. If you're earning a high salary, it's probably because you work hard. Its easier to put in that hard work if you love your job. So often people who earn well love their jobs. Now, vice versa is not always true. You can love your job but still not do well. So the best advice is to find a career you can love that also pays well. No point trying to love a job that will pay you as a mochi😆 .

now take the above advice and make a million or two or ten or hundred. Its advice from the best.😉😆
