I think action against ISIS is at this point necessary. USA messed up in the ME. Now they are in a damned if they do, damned if they don't position. I am not sure how I feel about the MOAB though. Felt like an overkill.

One of my friends who insisted that Trump would be not be a war hawk is now radio silent. Some foreign policy issues just have a set play. To blame Trump solely would be unfair. If Hillary had intelligence about ISIS hiding in Afghanistan, she would have had strikes too.

Depends on how far back into the past would you like to venture to garner answers. The Korean war? World War II?

North invaded South, US went with South, China (and Russia) went with North, and since there's no peace treaty between North and South, technically, they are still at war. I am sure you know all this.

US is concerned from the South Korea's standpoint but if DPRK (North) is successful in developing inter continental missiles armed with nuclear warheads, then the risk to US' mainland goes up exponentially too. North is famous for threatening South and its allies (US, of course!) every once in a while, and now-a-days, the threats are not considered empty (like they were when North's technology was a joke) since North successfully detonated nuclear bombs.

@K- Is it really now N-Korea or it's Trump's way of arm-twisting China. I am hearing really confusing narratives surrounding this. I travel constantly to S-Korea for work, including this year but never seen locals giving it a important beyond a point. Mostly, it's tactical play against China , rest I have no idea what US's end-game is around that region.

Am I allowed to blame Modi for the mess his Home Ministry is making. They had CRPF headless ( No Chief appointed) for more than 2 months .This during a time when CRPF was loosing people at an alarmingly high frequency. Or should we blame opposition, JNU and world..for loosing men the same fashion as like the last 3 encounters.

Modi's name is selling..just that.

Some of the directives by this Govt. are so bewildering..like you said pushing the soldiers in the deathtrap.

On kashmir, Modi needs to understand his alliance with Mufti has bee one big flop..he needs to bite the bullet ..declare the Governor's rule asap..first step towards ceasefire with the locals.
