Is marriage necessary?

Yes for some people and no for the others.

But some people believe in Mantra - If you don't get it right the first time keep trying. !!!!! And they get married 2,3,4 times...

Insanity- Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.!!!

Rightly said...but it is easier said than done. Who to marry- is she/he your soulmate or not....is a million dollar question.Who actually knows who is right? the definition of this"right" changes every so often. What looks like God's gift to mankind one day looks totally mundane the other day.

adi, i agree with you completely. what makes choosing the right one even harder is that you are not the same you after 5 years and your spouse also changes. One can only PREDICT certain changes, yet one can atleast agree on certain Priorities, ambitions, necessities and life-style.. Once the basics are certain, one can be flexible around them - that's what i meant. some ppl unfortunately don;t get the opportunity to know these basics and jump into something unexpected! that really brings marriage in trouble.

I haven't read all the posts yet.
But I do think that marriages have an upper hand when compared to live-ins.
Maybe I care too much about the society and what people will say, or maybe I am just orthodox who believes that saat phere are sacred. Whatever it is, I would rather be someone's wife than girlfriend any day.

By the way, I just realized I am a half goldie now 😳

marriage or no marriage, the difference is only about completing formalities, in some societies you dont need to prove others that you are married while in others you need to prove. it all boils down to what one believes in, their faith and their perspective towards community. someone i know, who is living without marriage, leading the same family life as any couples do, got a kid, all three of them staying together, bless their happy family, and their live in has been since a very very long time and on top of that the kid is doing well seeing both mother and father at one place and they just look like any other normal family when they socialize. i doubt 30-40 yrs from now, the society would even care if someone is married, just a thought looking at the live ins statistics rising.
