^true. You wrote it wellsaid it all.
The video was intended to portray a different message. completely different from what has been interpreted anyways. The crux of the message has been twisted off to cheating and infidelitywhereas it was not the intention of the makers to promote it.
The discussion on the video has been way off the actual meaning of the message it wants to promote.

This video actually had some good lines but a couple of badly worded lines ruined it. There's a reason why even some feminists criticised and disowned it.

And yes, it single handedly did more than what any MRA could ever do, to "rethink" and debate feminism and women's demands in name of empowerment.

It was trainwreck of a script which was bound to create controversy irrespective of the gender of people mouthing this script.

@ "Having child or not, my choice " --- If married, shouldnt that be a mutual decision between the spouses?

@"Having sex outside marriage, my choice " --- what the heck! It could work both ways. Would that be acceptable if asserted by the husband?

The 'sex outside marriage' part was disturbing. For me,that spoiled whatever message the video was supposed to convey.
If it had called out the hypocrisy still exists in some socities which makes adultery less of an offense for men than it is for women, then that's one thing. But justifying/encouraging the act in the name of one's freedom of choice is another.Absolutely no positives there.
May be the makers were just emphasizing the power of 'choice' by the controversial statement. It's kind of a pity that the example went too overboard because the rest of the video was tolerable and looked visually good as well.
As much as I appreciate the initiative Vogue is taking,it seems to me that they're stumbling and often clueless about the point they are trying to put across. Both this video and the earlier 'Start with the Boys'one are flawed.

Yes, it should be a mutual decision. The matter of children must be discussed before entering a committed relationship. If a person chooses not t to have kids, that decision must be respected.

Problem is many people feel obligated that a woman should have kids. Even if the husband is cool with it in-laws and even the girls parents pressure a girl to have kids.

Cheating is wrong. Once committed a person should divorce if they are unhappy, not cheat.

That being said it does work both ways. Men and women have the choice to cheat. Men and women have the choice to forgive their cheating spouses or divorce.

Problem is that society tells women that they must do their best to hold their marriage together, even if the husband cheats, but men are told they must punish a woman's infidelity, how dare she.

I think the video was directed more at social hypocrisy rather than men. I don't think it intended to say men don't have choices or that bad choices shouldn't have consequences. Nevertheless, the video was poorly directed and scripted. It made it appear that a woman can do anything she wishes without consequences. It came across as selfish and apathetic to feelings of others. Which is too bad, because it has made many people feel hostile towards women's empowerment and view it as a bad thing.

Sex outside of marriage = Premarital sex

This is the second time in recent weeks I have seen you guys having trouble deciphering standard English expressions (the first one was "gift of gratitude")
