But a healthy young person should not so easily give up their lives. They owe too much to their family and the country to just quit.
A person should try to carry on living up to at least the age of 80 years 😊.
Failures are stepping stones to success they say.
It is ironic that the prime purpose of birth is not to be born again.
Here suicide does not help as we have to clear our karma they say.

See the thing, life is difficult for everyone at some point or the other but it is not the same with people who suffer from recurring suicidal thoughts. Such people con-naturally agonize and ruminate over the problems at a much powerful tendency. Not all with suicidal thoughts are congenitally depressive but your argument in here would not appease any of their's thoughts. Survival for people suffering from mental illness (its not merely the thoughts, they have much more going on in their mind that triggers it all) is hard and none of the normal lot seems to understand it. It is imperceptible for you to perceive why are the depressed so detached from life and likewise, it is impossible for me to agree that one who's reluctant to live has to live just because they have to clear out karma.

For many the prime reason behind the willingness to suicide is their family or the other people associated to them, ironically. You may disagree but most commit suicide or are depressed because of their miserable childhood. It is mainly the neglected and lonely child that transforms into a despondent adult who later commits suicide because life didn't cease to disappoint him/her.

This was about the one with problems, there are many others with constitutional melancholy who find life worthless and want to die.

Someone told me and I quote, there's no dearth of reasons for why you'd wanna kill yourself.

It's easier said than done and not everyone can live up to the age 80 years. Please spare 'em the horror.

@Bold- Healthy is the key word in here. The suicidal aren't healthy, mentally. What's happening with 'em is dreadful and we don't notice it.

Generally those that are suicidal by nature are often too sensitive and emotional. Life is a big challenge and many are not able to cope ... especially when there are relationship problems.
As we go past 60 years, it is quite common for us to fall sick and suffer chronic diseases too. Losing our health whether mental or physical is dreadful and reason enough not to want to continue living. Life in cities is indeed a rat race and a challenge.
Given a choice there are many that may not want to live, but continue to do so because of their obligations and duties.

I dont think that a person with suicidal intent is going to benefit much from reading all this. What they need is some emotional support and understanding from those around them. Its the people around them that need to read this and be more compassionate if they have it in them.
What I dont like is this dependency of the suicidal person on his relatives or friends for emotional support. What I would be interested in is if there is any way which can be used to safeguard a person from going into such depression or desperation?
