Honestly speaking no, it does not matter. What really matter is being confident about yourself. If it was such a big deal than people with short height won't be so popular in showbiz. For example , jennifer Love Hewitt.

The girl most probably had some other reason for saying this, may be she was jealous and was trying to push you down.

Go through this article too, lots of ppl have short or more appropriately average height.

Beauty is subjective.
Did you know that a small head is consider pretty is South Korea. How bizarre does that sound?

TL;DR Be confident in your own skin. That's all that matters. The lankies have it bad too girl.

I'm short and I absolutely hate it when someone points it out. I accept it but I don't need them reminding me of it.
It is all about subjective beauty and I hate it for not being inclusive.
Funny I wanted to be 5 9 but barely reach 5ft
No one usually notices except for usually one person who has to point it out
But my favourite saying is good things come in small packages.
I also don't like it when someone says girls shouldn't be taller than guys. Maybe that should be a thread.

It's odd that this girl actually holds this perspective. Good for her on being proud of being that tall but it's usually very different.

Society often places great merrit on Males being tall (I will honestly say- as terrible as it is- that a man shorter than my 5'5 and 5'8 in heels will not make me look twice, so you need to be tall in my book LOL ). Where as society often is alright with females being short or average height- this is from a beauty and asthetics persepctive.

I personally haven't seen a concept of "short" being bad over all but I do see the stigma for men who are "short" compared to their female counterparts.

One of my very good friends is 5"8 and she hates to wear heels because she's tall and feels self conscious. People always remark on her height, "Wow, you're such a tall girl"; "No Don't wear heels, you'll tower over us!" etc. I guess it just depends on the "trend" the culture or community has.

It's all aesthetic biases people hold; however I DO Think it's odd that girl was acting superior. Perhaps she's using you to bring herself up- figuratively speaking- because regardless of her height, she seems small.
