Why is it that,Pakistani soaps and movies - Page 5

I remember when I was very young, my cousins who were teens then, used to watch "Bakra Kisthon mein." THere was a lot of advertisment on it and people were going to shops to rent that video. Even though Umar Sharif had made fun of Indian customs in it, people still watched it. So Aparna might be right...we don't have advertisment about Pakistani shows, so we don't watch it. When I go to Indian shops here, I don't know about there shows, so I don't get it.

let me ask u a question mister....have you ever seen a pakistani drama?...im guessing your answer will be no like most other indians...since you have not seen any pakistani dramas yo uhave NO RIGHT to judge them.

pakistani tv actors are a lot more versatile and capable of performing any role with expertise, i havnt seen that in idian tv actors. also, indian tv actors are very type-casted...i mean urvashi was evil as komolika and now she has to be evil in all her othe shows..i dont even think she can play off being a good woman or a "typical kekta bahu" because she has the "villian" role stamped on her. in pakistani dramas, there are many many actors and actresses i have seen playing a positive character in 1 drama and a negative character in another drama and they pulled off both with flair. in short, pakistani tv actors are a lot more skilled and they act a lot better than indian tv actors.

Pakistani drama's storyline is inferior to that of india?😲 this is news to me. everyone knows that pakistani shows have better storylines than indian (popular aka kekta's) soaps. yea i knoe there is more to indian television than kekta, but this thread is about popularity and kekta's stupid storylines are what seems to be popular. maybe india's people perfer 5 marriages, 3 miscarriages, pre-marital sex, everyone decieving each other, misunderstandings, perfect bahus, illogical twists, dead people coming back to life, parents looking younger than their children etc etc. if that is what they perfer then hey paksitani serials are not the right thing for them. paksitani dramas have a message, you all dont know how much i have actually learned abt life and alotta aother things from these shows. i mean pakistani dramas are not only very close to reality, the characters manage to become close to your heart (and that too in only 3-4 months). Pakistani dramas do not drag useless stuff or waste the audience's time, they give us what we want and they are so close to reality that you feel like you know the characters this definately does not apply to indian soaps (how many of you know someone in your life who is like tulsi or angad or jassi). haseena moin, seema ghazal and many others are some of pakistan's greatest script writers, pakistani dramas actually have a story....unlike these never ending illogical indian soaps.

bottom line....splidsnake...before you make a statement judging something, make sure you have actually experienced it and please give resons for your statement (epsecially if its as controversial as this 1) and no 😉😉 is NOT a reason

what are u talking about?? have u seen Indian dramas carefully??? every drama has ONE set only. its one house which all the dramas use. from one angle it is walia. and second angle it is kapoors!!! and the third angle is shuklas!!!! that same house the Hospital and some bathroom of it is the jail!!! and u talk about Pakistani Drama budgets?!?!?!? if Indian dramas are using such a high budget, why dont they get more sets?!?!?!

watch Pakistani Dramas sometimes u will know what Drama is!!!! they have the most beautifull sets and every drama has a very good budget. and a DIFFERENT SET!!!! plus every family have their own home too!!!😊

and what do u call technology???? spinning the camera at 360 degrees, to show how much the person is in shock, or zooming in and out untill the viewer have a headace?!?!?! if thats technology, then it is good that Pakistan doesn't use it!!!! I like to see the expressions of the person, rather then camera going wild and the actors going multicolor after every scene!!!

coming to budget again!!! Pakistani dramas not only cover the issues in Pakistan only, but also for issues of Pakistanis living outside Pakistan. and they have not started it now, but are doing it for more then a decade now!!!

so kindly get ur facts stright before making a point!!!

and ya for the acting part, go watch a drama. and u will know. every artist in Pakistan is a classic actor. they don't need camera to show their expressions.

editing to add about the point made on stories!!! they are short and sweet. 95% of the dramas are one hour long. and to the point. they don't stretch the dramas like a chewing gum, so it becomes tasteless and BORING after sometimes, and u forgot where it started from!! that one hour every week is when the viewer is glued to the seat, coz if he/she misses even a min of it. they will miss a big chunk of the story. the characters are real, the story is real, and u can easily relate those stories. plus every story has a moral attached to it!!!

its not like one bahu of the house is going crazy doing everything. its the family which works!!!

the only thing i wanted to point oout to aparna di is that indian soaps ARE LEGALLY SHOWN in pakistan...yea there r bans...but none of them are permanent...the gov't bans it but then those bans are taken off and ppl watch again....so noo...it isnt tht the cable walah ppl r illegally showing these dramas....pakistan DOES allow indian channels...and not only 1 or 2 but ALL of them...now india on the other hand DOES NOT show these channels legally...maybe the people there know that pakistani dramas are better and by showing them people will stop watching the kekta crap and they are afraid of competition and tht too from across the boarder 😆 😆 (last comment was meant to be light hearted humor because this debate was getting quite serious 😉)

lolz yea saba appi...good point about the sets and chakkar-wala scenes 😆 i almost forgot abt tht in my other post 😆

those scenes where the camera does a 360 or the colors keep changing or any of the other camera tricks are REALLY ANNOYING...i mean its just uselsess stuff that wastes time, bkgrnd music and camera tricks are needed in indian tv shoaps because thats the only way they can convey their emotions (the actors say "go to hell" and "i love you" with the same expressions 😆)..pakistan does not need the assistance of unnecessary camera tricks to convey the intensity of the scene because the script writer's wonderful dialogues and the actor's fabulous performance are more than enough

and as for the sets 😆 😆 ..indian tv ko kapra makeup our zewaar sa fursat milla gi toh sets change keraingaye 😆 😆 😆

My Across the border friends and members please do not get agitated with critisism about whats lacking in Pakistani shows.

We have always happily bashed "Kekta" shows as every Indian and Pakistani members call it. Bashed them for their showing utter nonsence and being removed from reality, from showing too much affluence , from showing extra marital affairs and PMS that hurts people's sentiments. We have bashed them on every section of I-F (Including PSF). So if we criticise a Pakistani show as a debate subject why must we take this personally when Indians have not made this a India- Pakistan issue every time we heard a Pakistani member criticise it!!!!!!!!!

Please calm down and not forget we are trying to find reasons for why pakistani shows do not work in India while Indian shows do work in Pakistan.

Both reasons have no basis. Reason ? Are the Indian shows/ Movies telecasted in Pakistan ????????? I bet thats a NO !! NO !!! NO !!!! But still Pakistani people are informed and like to watch Indian shows.

And No Indian Newspaper will carry info on Pakistani show the same way NO Pakistani newspaper will carry info about Indian shows.

As for the Pakistani shows NOT being telecasted in India. Let me remove this misconception....the same way Pakistani's get Indian Soaps on their TV illegaly , We Indians also get Pakistani channels like PTV. I am not sure if they are legally telecasted or not BUT they are by several cable walahas who do. I know my mom and my saas's cable walah in India does show it.

OK firstly indian channels R CASTED IN PAKISTAN LEGALLY!!!!...Thats just nowdays the indian channels i mean only star plus is having a bad tym otherwise all the other channels r LEAGAL...

Secondly Indian Dramas r Advertised in pakistan!there r soo many magazines lyk Aighbare-jehan n AVS which r dedicated fully not just to indian dramas but pakistani n a bit of english dramas...

When they r banned so no cable wala take the risk of showing the band channels...We have very tight security about that...ask me i always call the cable wale n ask them to put star plus on but they always tell me at the tym of bans that they r banned n they cannot risk to put them on...so dont get the impression that they r illegaly put on in pakistan n that they rnt advertised here...n btw these dramas rnt advertised by indians but by Pakistanis..So not even indians can give us this excuse that our dramas rnt advertised in India because even u guys dont advertise indian dramas here but we do...

ofcourse they are published, when i was there, there used to be weekly mags where there were highlights of famous dramas from all over the world, including Indian soaps!!!

newspapers are a private thing, so they will carry what the ppl want to read. in the entertainment section.

zaroori nahian hai keh jo India nahian kar raha hai, woh Pakistan bhi nahain kar raha hai. Pakistan is an independent country, and very much open to every kind of channels. expect po*n!
