I can't stand Scarlett, even Lizzie Bennet is a bit intolerable.

I like my Lisbeth Salanders, Hermione Grangers, Lyra Belaquas and Katniss Everdeens. Even Scout or George Kirrin or Alice are far better characters than that intolerable Scarlett.

Funny story,

During placements post engineering,

adobe had this last round of intw- Group HR

so 10 of us were in the room.. and they started with the chit chat

The conversation turned to hobbies/ or was it last book read

Girl1: gone with the wind

Girl 2: Gone with the wind

Boy 1: Fountainhead

BOy 3: Fountainhead

Girl 3: Gone with the wind

Boy 3: Fountainhead

( Most of the folks were hostlers, and you know how it works.. books get circulated.. plus i think 5 point someone was the first book most of the boys had started their 'reading interest' with)

PS: N i honestly think i got the job due to this round.. i had read exactly 10 pages of a book on buddhism last , because of some argument with mom and she made me read it.. ( i didn't get a word of what the two schools of thoughts were abt back then.. lol.. ) but was brilliant enough to give global gyan for 2 minutes in that HR round ..

He was right on the spot. I flirted with the idea of Doctor before settling with an engineering degree and now the eventual ibank world!!

accountancy scarred me for life 😛.. pain it was .. wonder if i can ever muster the courage to read advanced financial stuff..

1984 - Big brother.. 😛

love that book... the various themes it touches upon - language as mind control, psychological and physical intimidation, manipulation..knowledge of past and its importance..thought police.

Did anyone see Akshat Singh from IGT on The Ellen Show? How freakin' cute is he?!

On a side note, what is it with the Indian Cricket Team making weak/average opposition look like the greatest team in the world?! :( we get ourselves in to these great situations and then never capitalise on it, ugh!
