LeQ further warns: More blasts in Delhi, Mumbai

Mumbai, July 18: Lashkar-e-Qahar, the terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the Mumbai train bombings, warned on Tuesday that it was planning attacks against government and historic sites in India in an e-mail to a news television station.

Lashkar-e-Qahar said in the e-mail that 16 people took part in the July 11 attacks in Mumbai, and that one of them was killed.

But "all the remaining 15 mujahideens are totally safe, and celebrating the success of this mission and also preparing for the next mission," the e-mail said.

When these people are making such open challenges why is our govt still sitting on its behind??

"We also request all the Muslim brothers and sisters not to go near the main historical, governmental and the monumental places of India (especially in Delhi and Mumbai) in future," the e-mail said. "Otherwise, they get hurt too."

Apparently these guys have learnt Britains "divide and rule" policy only too well 😒

The train bombings killed 207 people and injured hundreds more. Investigators believe the group may be a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba.

LS condemns Mumbai blasts

NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha on Monday strongly condemned the July 11 Mumbai blasts and Srinagar grenade attacks and called for steps to bring to book the perpetrators of the heinous crimes.

''We should all pledge to fight this menace and to root out the scourge of terrorism, collectively and unitedly, with resolute courage and strength,'' Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said as soon as the House met on the opening day of the Monsoon Session.

Strongly condemning the ''dastardly and cowardly acts of the terrorists'', he said their nefarious design to halt the progress and even tempo of life and to divide the people of the country can never succeed.

''I am sure all sections of the House will join me in commending the courage, fortitude and sense of patriotism shown by our people in the wake of the senseless killings,'' he said and expressed condolences, on behalf of the House, to the bereaved families and sympathy to the injured, wishing them a speedy recovery.

The House stood in silence for a short while as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed.

On July 11, as many as 184 persons lost their lives and 840 were injured in seven bomb blasts in suburban trains in Mumbai, and nine persons, mainly tourists, were killed and 33 injured in five grenade attacks in Srinagar.

Thats it??? Strongly Condemn??? Oh! yeah! I bet that'll show 'em..the terrorists must be quaking in their boots!

Slightly old article but it shows the thinking of Muslim Religious Leadership in India...

Shahi Imam ''absolves'' LeT, blames RSS for Mumbai blastsl

Using a rostrum overlooking the majestic Red Fort, the Shahi Imam of Delhi's grand old Jama Masjid today hit out at the principal political rivals of the United Democratic Front (UDF) he has floated ahead of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh while challenging the charge that Islam breeds terrorists.

''I can say with authority that it is not any Muslim but the Shiv Sena, the RSS and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad who are responsible for the serial blasts in Mumbai,'' Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari told a gathering inside the historic mosque. He cited the recent Sena backlash against the defilement of a statue of the late wife of the party chief as evidence that the Saffron forces were desperate to politically revive themselves in Maharashtra. The Imam was of the opinion that Muslim men were being blamed for ''every'' terrorist outrage as part of a deep rooted conspiracy. Community members were being harassed by law enforcing agencies in Mumbai in the wake of the serial blasts even though they had ''no role in the anti-Islamic outrages'', he said, slamming the Congress Governments in Maharashtra and at the Centre. ''Why is it that security forces blame the Lashkar-e-Toiba within ten minutes of a blast. If they already know who did it, why don't they go ahead and arrest the culprits well before the crime is done,'' he asked. He said he was willing to visit Pakistan and ''talk'' to the LeT commanders if he was given proof of its involvement in terrorist incidents in India. ''If they are responsible then we will talk to them, tell them that they do more harm to the cause of Islam and to Muslims in India through their actions''. Imam Bukhari said he was worried that while real culprits went scot free and trigerred more blasts, ordinary Muslims were becoming terror suspects in the eyes of the people and the police. ''Every bearded man becomes a suspect'', he said. Charging the security forces with perpetrating excesses on Muslims, he said terrorism could not be wiped out in such a manner. ''If you want to end terrorism, then you would also have to end State terrorism''. ''The Government should handle the issue of terrorism tactfully. We want equality before the law'', he said, alleging that the ''yardstick'' was different when it concerned violence perpetrated by Maoists and insurgent groups in the North-East. He hit out at the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, saying these ''so-called secular parties'' were to blame for all the ills afflicting Muslims today. ''When Muslims get targeted under these so called secular parties, it is time we teach them a lesson. It is time Shias, Sunnis, Ansaris, Saifis, Barelvis, Qureshis and all else stand up as one -- as Muslims -- and snatch back our collective rights and dignity,'' the Imam said, asking the community to stand up to the political challenge.

''We were rulers here for 800 years. Inshaallah, we shall return to power here once again'', he said to loud approval by the nearly 200 assembled men.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan would cooperate with India to root out terrorism but would pay back in the 'same coin' if any 'punitive action' was initiated against it in 'hot pursuit' of terrorists, President Pervez Musharraf has said.

"Nobody should have this wishful thinking that Pakistan will bear any kind of adventure inside its territory. No one is there who can take any punitive action against Pakistan, as its defence is in strong hands," Musharraf was quoted as saying by Pakisan's Online news agency.

This was stated by the Pakistan President while inaugurating an oil refinery and laying the foundation stone for a liquid cargo terminal at Port Qasim near Karachi on Tuesday.

"Nobody should be under any illusion or cast an evil eye at us or talk of punitive action," he said referring to reports in the Pakistani media in this regard.

The news agency reported that Musharraf said his country was ready to cooperate with India to root out terrorism.

For the last few days, Pakistani leaders and officials have been referring to Pakistani media reports about the possibility of India carrying out punitive strikes or hot pursuit of terrorists.

The references were to "some reports" from India without specifying who actually said what.

On Monday, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam, in response to a question about such "reports", also said "nobody should make (this) mistake...Pakistan will not allow hot pursuit into its territory".

" Pakistan wants to pursue the path of peace, wants peace process to resume and is ready to discuss all issues," Aslam had said recalling India's move to mass troops along Pakistan's borders in 2001 in response to attack on the Indian Parliament. "Even then we had to return to the negotiations table and that is the option before us."

She had also termed the media reports in this regard as "extremely irresponsible".

In his speech, Musharraf said peace will be achieved through strength and not by weakness.

Pointing to the Israeli strikes on Lebanon to attack Hizbullah positions, he said Israel could act like that because of weakness of Beirut.

On Pakistani's defence alllocation, he also claimed that despite the Rs 18 billion increase in this year's defence budget, Pakistan's defence expenditure had come down.

"If you keep in mind the increase in the gross domestic product (GDP), you will note that Pakistan's defence budget has decreased," he said.

DEL Musharraf said security was a necessity and Pakistan would ensure it at every cost.

Pakistan, in the recent times, finalised a five billion dollar package to buy about 26 F-16 planes from US and a one billion dollar deal to buy airborne SAAB radars from Sweden besides deals to purchase six naval frigates from Greece and China.

Musharraf said that Pakistan was totally against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and would continue to cooperate with all countries.

Maintaining that no energy project could succeed without Pakistan's participation because of its strategic location, he invited foreign investors to invest in energy projects in his country.

BEIJING: China on Wednesday accused the Dalai Lama of collaborating with CIA and Indian armed forces to organise the 'Indian Tibetan special border troops'.

They also accused him of being involved in a 'swindle' by using wrong facts to mislead world opinion about the situation in Tibet. The Dalai Lama continues to work for Tibetan independence under the guise of seeking autonomy for the region, China said in a statement.

The Dalai Lama's demand for "one country, two systems" for Tibet as is the situation in Hong Kong and Macau was also rejected.

Hong Kong and Macau have been allowed to install the system because they have a history of capitalism which differs from the socialists system in China, the statement said.

But Tibet has no history of capitalism and does not deserve it, it said. The Chinese move to raise the ante against the Dalai Lama might frustrate his recent attempt to work out conciliation with Chinese authorities.

**************************************************

We need to support Dalai Lama and his Tibbet Cause openly, we should also establish ties with Taiwan just to warn Chinese Commies. China occupies thousand sq.kms. of our land and still doesn't recognise Sikkim/Arunachal as Indian territory.😡

NEW DELHI: In a serious breach of security, three youngsters drove up to one of the inner gates of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence here on Thursday night. All three were detained after first being allowed to drive out.

A boy and two girls, one of them behind the wheel, drove a black Hyundai Sonata up to the alighting point at 7, Race Course Road after passing through the security cordon at the main gate.

Surprised Special Protection Group personnel stopped the vehicle (DL4C V 006) at the alighting point from where ministers and visitors are escorted into a ferry vehicle to take them inside.

Questioned by the SPG personnel, one of the girls stepped out of the car and reportedly replied: "We are commoners. We want to meet the Prime Minister."

"Do you have an appointment?" the youngsters, all in their twenties and reportedly in a drunken state — were asked. As they didn't have an appointment, SPG personnel turned them away: "Then you cannot see him now."

But a group of surprised journalists, waiting for a briefing on a Union cabinet meeting which was in progress at the PM's residence, saw the youngsters casually blowing kisses on their way out of 7, Race Course Road.

As the car passed them, the journalists intercepted it and questioned the three about their mission. They said they wanted to meet the Prime Minister and drove away after creating a flutter.

It was only when journalists, who are routinely subjected to tough security checks at the PM's residence, raised the issue with the Special Protection Group personnel that the security men realise the seriousness of the situation and alerted the Delhi Police.

The cops then flashed a message across the city to trace the car, following which the three youngsters were detained.

*************************************************

This news is all over Indian News Media since evening. It was serious security breach, they had reached upto 2nd gate and instead of taking them into custody SPG simply let them go back. And finally when mediapersons raised hue and cry, they were caught neas INA Market near AIIMS few Kms away.

BTW, this incident was hilarious also, waise teeno ameer maa-baap ki bigdi aulaade lag rahi thi. The girl who was driving the car (Hyundai Sonata) was blowing kisses to media people.😆 Everything was captured on camera.😆
