We send our children for education in schools.. to attain knowledge and its power... But b4 the admission is it right to interview a 2.5-4 years child? He is just a baby... just started to speak... and the school authorities expect him to have learnt all the ABCD...1234... computer ..etc 😕.. And then afterwards the interview of the parents😕... Is this justified??

Why the child? Even why the parents..they are sending the child to school for learning purposes... Wht is the logic behind interviewing them?? And why schools are putting all the burden on the parents to teach the basics to their child b4 entering in the territory of the school😕 Are not schools meant for this purpose?? Its their responsibility! ( I know it may not happen in many schools.. But this is something that happened to my sister's children.. and i thought.. wht the heck??!!😡😆)

Ur comments.😊

I wonder who got this idea behind interviewing pre-schoolers ! It's utter nonsense. I mean a pre-schooler hardly knows anythign thats why he is beign sent to a school. Why torture him/her with scary interviews with principal etc etc as the panel. It's not like a kid should know numers, alphabets and english and hindi before he/she joins school. So interview is unnecessary.

Parenst are interviewed mainly to know the family bkgd and also income..donation ke liye u see... 😡 . They ask about parents job..if mother works..if its a joint family or a nuclear family..blah blah...i think the sole purpose is to see their standing in d society . Many schools prefer to have high society kids as tehir students so taht the reputaion can be built..plus ofcourse the donations..

I think interviews should be scrapped..cuz in school the students shoudl be wekk represebnted fm diff classes...

Actually interviews are important.... after all it is the question of kids life. Remeber the saying..........today's child is the father of tomorrow

but they should be other way round. THe prescholar & the parents should interview the school to make sure if the staff is well equiped to teach their kids. 😃

I am not too sure if it's a good idea to interview them or bad as I don't have much research or knowledge about education system. However, I know I was interviewed as a pre-schooler during those days. And even my parents were. Our school was following central board system and there were tons of subjects including learning Hindi and Gujarat languages (apart form english) since grade 1st and sanskirt from Grade 5th which most schools started from 8th. Ther academic was very stressful and extrac curriculam too including aryurved, cookery, humanity, yoga, etc. were part of our acadamic studies and then extra activities were cumpolsory like tae-kwon-do, skating etc. etc. So they wanted to make sure that kids could cope up with all these intense work and wanted to make sure parents were educated enough to cope up and teach their kids. Usually they required parents to have degree in english medium and neither of my parents had that ..they both had graduated from gujarati backgroud, but somehow i still managed to get in. And then i had couple friends who dropped and changed school from grade4th, 8th, etc. just 'coz it was too much for them and they could not cope up. in such case, i would think it makes sense for them to interview.

But I still think that pre-school is too young of an age to interview kids. I still don't think that my school (discribed above)should do this. If kids think that they can't cope up they can always quit and change school, but interviewing just to know if they know enough english, enough abc, 123 etc. is not fair. what are schools forthen? its' like it has become tradition to take tuition in india 'coz everyone does and school teachers dont teach much. this is not fair. why would "most" of the students have to take tutions.....why parents pay money to schools. they should be prepared for teaching kids abc, 123 and help weaker students. Slowly the meaning of school is also changing to one of business these days. donations, tuition money as extra income..its just loosing its value of school as "vidya mandir" and teachers as "guru brahma guru vishnu"......

That's not a bad idea actually. 😆 Pre-school children are so young, I don't think they should be put on any test. Why not just admit the children in schools and see where they stand academically?

This happened to my sister's children (Ohh my dear chotu...😭) they have to learn taekwondo.. and music classes .. and art classes .. and so many extra curricular activities as a part of their course...BUT still that can't justify the interview school admin does with those little children.. i mean.. this is so rude😡.. Let them have a chance at school and judge their abilities....

I agree with Swar_Raj 100%... Instead parents and children should interview the school people as if they are capable to teach or not!!!😆😛

(P.S. ...DF i was writing when u posted ur post... We said the same thing!!😛😆)

You cracked me up..😆actually interviewing school authorities is not a bad idea😉

You said interviews are important? But why so?

I mean at pre-school level..kids are liek clay..ready to be moulded..and if school's interview kids..they basically freak them out !!..i have noticed today's kids do notwant to got to school as they ask too many questions...*my cousins case*. Further they join school so that they can be moulded.

Now i want to know your reasosn for why a school should interview pre-schoolers !😳

I remeber a joke of Sunday pape....A little kid is walking through the door.and has a heavy book in his hand with title..."How to properly raise children"

In the caption he is saying to hi s surprise parents.that he wants to read the book to make sure that he is being raised properly"😛
