To be fair, you should have elaborated on the subject in your OP šŸ˜† Which was why I posted that link and video in my first post.

just goes to show how people would run to click a link if it is 'bout a gossip but won't care if it is about a real issue! 🄱

No I meant it's not a major issue that he posted a link and not the contents šŸ˜†

Actually it pisses me off that they're restricting the internet. Stupid old farts. Some religious assholes always saying "OH IT OFFENDS ME AND THE SENTIMENTS OF MY PEOPLE!" or "NO! THIS SHOULD NOT BE DONE!"

The problem is that the internet was once a place where there were no old fashioned religious and aged old farts. Now there are idiots trying to control it. They can go suck a f%%% according to me.

Tin foil hat time! OMG! OMG! Internet is going away! Governments is goings to takes mines internets aways! Someone, do something fast!

Nothing is going away.

As pointed out earlier aptly, SOPA is relative to US only. Other countries do not need to worry. It does not matter where the servers are located. Location specific content delivery is one of the first things any .com company does.

Now, that it is well established that this problem is specific to US only, there is a process for every bill to become a law. Those who are familiar with US civic system would know this basic stuff.

Everything affects everybody in some way. But that's hardly any reason for me to worry about everything.
It's their decision to take not ours. If the same thing is started in India, we will think about it then. If I'm supposed to be interested about some law that is being debated in USA, then I should be interested in all laws of all countries in the world. That I'm not is cos it's not happening in my country.

Something that I came across...

SOPA could drastically impact the Other Countries online experience. By granting the American DOJ and litigious copyright holders the right to hold websites, applications and service providers, like YouTube, Twitter and PayPal, responsible for their users' actions, it is foreseeable that these targeted parties would respond by (a) further restricting and limiting the conditions for sharing content and/or (b) create more stringent guidelines for validating users' identities.

This means Other Countries (and all online users) could see a significant reduction in the amount of content (videos, music, images, etc.) available online. More restrictions and limits on content for which users do not have the permission to distribute could range from streaming an online movie in HD, to sharing a youtube video of a friend's band covering a Beatle's song. 'Net neutrality' and the goal of equal access to information would take a massive and significant blow.

Legal pressure would force third-parties to comply with law enforcement demands and, in response, users might be requested to surrender and validate personal information when using these online applications and services. This would equate to a reduction in internet privacy and could force online websites and applications to be more exclusive in what is available to their users.

Furthermore, the DOJ and copyright holders would be empowered to seek court orders which target legitimate websites and users, effectively censoring information and free speech through regulatory noise. In effect, SOPA would reduce the sharing of information which could slow down technological and intellectual collaboration and innovation.

**Edited quotes as those posts have been deleted**

I've read some of your posts and they are pretty intelligent and impressive. šŸ‘šŸ¼ It is indeed sad to see someone like you making these childish and derogatory remarks. I wish you could stay away from all this. I've seen you attacking another member "boredsoul" for no apparent reason in parent/spouse thread.
