I agree with u Sam.

I dont believe in "half religion" either. I know many ppl who are half muslim, half christian, becuz of inter religion marriges between their parents, laikan i think tht every religion is unique in its own way,and follows different teachings.

Its a persons personal choice actually, i dont relate to it since iv never been thru such a situation, mayb ppl who are follow half a religion can shed some light on this topic.

**didnt mean to hurt any1 by my views

I think that when people say I am half muslim and half hindu it means that one of their parent is muslim and one parent is hindu. Like lets say my mom is hindu and my dad is christian then i would probably say i am half hindu and half christian as you see two religion followed in your home.

Hey guys ...............i am half breed too (although i didn't mind what any body says). I am half Hindu and half Sikh and guess what i love it that way .

Listen faith and religon are a personal choice . Its how you want to interpret faith . Hinduism and Sikhism have similarity ........but have their differences too .
But personally ask me how i remember god .I do my gutka paath too( read the prayer book in Sikhism) . I keep fasts on Monday for Shiv Ji . Its what i feel in my heart . My mom asked me who do i remember at times of trouble and i told her Waheguru Ji(GuruNanak Dev ji ) & Bhole Nath (Shankar Ji) .

Also following certain things , i am liberalist where Religon is concerened and choose to believe what sounds ideal to me .(And many do too but don't admit it).

So you can be very much a half caste and a believer !!!!

Ya Samie in Islam i know this is Sinfull, what i want to say is she has her own ways of remembering Allah and Christ . She may not follow all customs - do's & don't till the hilt .......but that doesn't make her wrong in the eyes of that god she believes in . It may make her wrong in the eyes of another Muslim ......but not to her .

I as a half Sikh - Half Hindu i do million things thats forbidden or not allowed . example - i recently gave up smoking , smoking is forbidden in Sikhism . I cut my hair too !! Hinduism fortunately hardly has million do's and don'ts so i don't have to worry about breaking rules there !!😆

And to be honest to ME religon is a guideline . I don't like to follow every thing thats written in Ramayan or Guru Granth . I mean i question god because i am from two religons . I question what Ramji did to Sita !!!!!!
This may shock you !! Because i know must Muslims don't dare question anything the prophet had done or said .

But in my heart i love my Waheguru ji and Shiv ji . I pray to them. Be a good person . Try to follow the essence of my religon ( which is a essensce of all religons i think).........1) Be a good human being ......do not hurt a person or animal !!
2) Not to steal .To do good deads like help others , make donations , do charity , etc etc .

And if god is still displeased with me , when i meet him i'll apologise. Maybe your classmate believes in reaching her god through being a good human being and not caring about these things .

To you and many other Muslims its not enough to be a good human( I remember reading that in Shahrukh khan debate). .........many belive that to be a good Muslim one ought to read Namaaz , keep fast and do the things that are told to you as per Quran.
But maybe her sense of religon says that as long as i am a good human being , a believer who prays to god ............thats enough .

In my opinion she has the choice of best of two worlds ..........choose what you love about Islam and Christainity and drop what you are not to comfortable with in I & C !! ( like me😛)

i think your friend says she is half muslim because one of her parents is a muslim. sometimes parents who follow two diff. religion don't force any religion on kids and leave it up to them to choose when they grow up. so i think it is perfectly fine for her to say that she is half muslim.

i don't think those who follow any particular religion also obeys all it's commandments. i have mentioned this before too that i have a muslim friend who eats non- halal meat at my place but she is a very religious lady. i am a married hindu but rarely apply sindoor or bindi and sometimes don't wear mangalsutra if it doesn't go with my dress 😃. that doesn't make me any less hindu. i have muslim friends who drink. i have sikh friends who don't carry kirpan at all. i have muslim friends who don't wear hijab or scarf. a friend of mine is a christian who is married to a hindu. they have a 13 year old. they celebrate both festivals at home and asked this kid to decide his religion when he grows up. it seems he is now into buddhism. so my friend told him if he likes then he can follow that. her parents want this kid to be christian and in laws want him to be hindu.

all of us adjust the religious rules according to our convenience. i think none of us have any right to judge what someone follows as we don't follow all the rules written in our holy books.

I am a born and raised Hindu, but Personally I do not beleive in religion at all, only in God. However, I respect and consider all religions equally.
While externally many religions seem to have conflict I think the esscence is the same Peace, Love, and the quest for attaining God and salvation. I see no conflict in being of mixed religions....its a matter of faith and perceptions.

I like what blue pink wrote that there are hardly many people who is a purist and doesn't break a single rule . Even the pure Hindu or pure Muslim may ne breaking a rule or so in their daily life . So one should not judge others for the same . Especially on the basis of their have adopted 2 religons.

Also like return to hades puts it the essence for all religons is the same.
