blue-Ice, I will have to disagree with you on this. Souro is right. Fans are FANATICS... neutral people are moderates who like an actor for pure performance and no other attributes. Fans/ extremists are more into the actors' personal life. If someone is balanced they don't care about anything but their performance and physical attributes.

blue-Ice, the very fact that you watch SRK movie at least once, explains that you attach more than deserving importance to the film coz SRK acted. Rather, would you not want to follow what the critics have to say about a movie before you watch it? SRK should not be the ONLY criteria to watch the movie. Direction, cinematography, music, screenplay, storyline, and a little research about the thought that went into the movie when the movie is made and directed; and based on that we decide or judge the movie to see if they achieved it.
To me, a neutral person would definitely consider all of the above while deciding whether or not to watch a movie.

BI debated about my usage of the word 'fan' and I told her that she doesn't fit the definition of a true 'fan'.
Now, I don't see what exactly is the problem in saying that fans worship their favourite celebrity, but it seems that there is some problem considering you are the third person coming up to defend themself against that remark.

As for the topic: I find some of the movies of SRK good, some of his films enjoyable but not great and some of his films totally rubbish.
I don't really think he is a great actor or anything and I definitely don't think that he is good looking.
But I do think he is a good businessman. Very good at negotiating and networking which is what has positioned him so favourably with the top production houses and brands and helped him in maintaining the hype amongst the people.

DP, the very fact that some of you can't accept and digest the fact there are some of us who are neutral or don't like SRK ONLY for his lack of talent, is a classic example of how much you revere SRK in your subconscious state and that is also some kind of hero worship. Hence, souro's statement is TRUE!!! Fans worship their heroes at some or other level.

Also, souros was trying to explain how the word 'Fan' came about.. 😃😃😃

The problem with such arguments is that it practically closes the debate, any guy who disagrees with you, or doesn't like SRK, will be judged as someone jealous... when the reason could simply be that they find him overhyped/overrated for an average actor 😛

Was that a female psychologist by any chance?

👏👏 well said!!!

@ red - 🤣 I'd love for that Q to be answered.. 🤣🤣🤣

Well I understand what you mean and you are right, it is not necessary that the reason behind every 'man's' dislike towards SRK should be jealousy. If a person has a valid reason as to why he/she dislikes SRK, like how you mentioned you dont like him bcos he is overhyped/overrated as you consider him as an average actor, then its fine. I respect your opinion and I dont find anything wrong in your opinion. I am just talking of some men who hate him without any reason, and if you ask them the reason they give really stupid reasons and more than reasons they just start making fun of him. So when someone behaves like that, I feel they are just jealous of him 😆!

Isn't that an assumption that men don't like SRK for no obvious reason?
Romantic storyline works with most women and those are the kinda movies SRK acts. That's the only reason he might be popular among women.

I am not a man but SRK kinda movies doesn't work for me. I need something intellectually stimulating... something different..

The definition of extremism is holding extreme views.....I read through this thread and I don't see any SRK fan saying anything extreme about SRK like he is a God or something...all people said that he has a likeable personality, they like to watch his movies etc.....nothing extreme in my view........on the otherhand let us see the statements you have made.....ALL fans are fanatics....they are a part of a band wagon...they are not leaders and followers....neutral people are moderates........now do you consider these as extreme views of SRK fans😉.........so who is the extremist here😆.......u may shout all u want from the roof top that u are a moderate/neutral blah blah.....ur statements are telling a diff story😉......

I don't even want to argue about SRK....why people like/dislike him is all about personal liking....
We live in a society and for a normal human being its OKAY to like /dislike a celebrity because of their personal lives......nobody is stalking the celebrities...their lives are out there for everyone to see....so if one gets affected by it it is absolutely normal.......there is nothing extreme about it.......so its time to stop tooting ur horn and time to respect other people's opinions and not call them fanatics/extreme etc etc...
The word fan may have originated from the word fanatic.....but it is now used for a person who has enthusiasm about something......I can be a fan of anything...it doesn't have to be a celebrity😆🤣

We may not be as good looking as him, we may not have six packs like him, we may not dance like him, we may not melt hearts like him, we may not spread our arms and romance like him, we may not have a smile like him and we may not have his other qualities lol. However it still does not mean that we are jeaolus of him. It is not right to say that.
And why would a good decent person be jeaolus of him? I dont want a billion girs as fans. I want just one sincere fan who likes me more than Srk, eye candy terrence, shahid kapoor, aamir, edward, shaky baby, gora actors (and other guys girls drool over). I am confident I am worth that lol.

King ji ..if u r referring to my statement...i hope u saw the emoticon after it...it was supposed to be sarcastic/funny statement....just because the topic itself was funny😆...of course we all know that all men are not jealous of SRK😆😆.........but anyway I think jealous is a much much milder term when you compare it to fanatic and extreme..the adjectives that have been used for people who like SRK...don't u agree..😆
