Fans/ extremists are more into the actors' personal life. If someone is balanced they don't care about anything but their performance and physical attributes.

@Bold - Isnt this statement too generic? It can not be applied to all.
The reasons why fans (not all again) like some heros is mainly because of the past performance of the heros. My husband is a big fan of AB. He doesnt want to miss a single AB movie. Still, if the movie is really not worth watching, he just switches of the DVD/goes out from the theatre. Same with many fans (including me). So the word "fan" though is derived from "fanatic", is not applied in that sense any more. However, I am not mentioning about the "fans" who can die for their heroes 😆 I am just talking about neutral fans.
Well, about liking/disliking SRK, it is individual's perception. There is nothing right/wrong in that. But, I feel most of the female population likes SRK because of his understanding of women. His values towards his family (atleast that is what is shown to us), love for his wife and kids which is not a very common aspect in bollywood.
Normally, females are more emotional than men. And Vish, this is proven by many cultural anthropologists (I can give proofs if u want 😆). So, where ever they feel "emotionally connected", they like those aspects. But here again, I can not generalize. Some women prefer to be practical than being emotional. So they may have different set of attributes in liking a hero/character.

Rather, would you not want to follow what the critics have to say about a movie before you watch it? SRK should not be the ONLY criteria to watch the movie. Direction, cinematography, music, screenplay, storyline, and a little research about the thought that went into the movie when the movie is made and directed; and based on that we decide or judge the movie to see if they achieved it.
To me, a neutral person would definitely consider all of the above while deciding whether or not to watch a movie.

Listen...movies are for entertainment and that is it for me.....do you think that I will do research and read the critics comments before watching a movie........I hardly have the time to watch the movie in one go......its watching a movie for God's sakes not looking for a cardiologist for heart sugery....my life doesn't depend on it😆............If I need something intellectually stimulating I will read a book.....and I don't understand why u think being neutral is all that😆😆 ....of course I am not neutral.......I don't want to be neutral......I want to take sides............😆............being neutral is abnormal.and boring........😆

What is there to like SRK ? He is not the man he portrays on the screen which all look the same anyway. what six packs are you people discussing about ? where are they ? Whatever packs were there disappeared right with OSO ! This does not happen with others who rgularly go to the Gym. So what was it ? steroid packs for commercial success ? He has a good business sense no doubt . IMO SRK is looking quite weak and dehydrated these days. I really dont see why some girls go so crazy after him. I remember that episode in Kaun banega crorepati when he asked a female contestant to hug him towards the end of the show and she refused saying that she was not interested 😆 . People do get carried away with all the adulation that their fans shower on them 🤣
How many of you would hug him btw 😃
And I m not being jealous !

Romantic storyline works with most women and those are the kinda movies SRK acts. That's the only reason he might be popular among women. Exactly, you are right. That is the reason why most women like SRK, that is the aspect that attracts women to him. Like how men like Jackie Chan mainly for his action sequences, similarly women like SRK for his romance, fair enough 😉? And it IS a fact that the way SRK can attract women with romance, no other actor in Bollywood today can. There are many who are good in romance, but in comparision to SRK's power to attract women, they are just normal 😉. I am not saying this, this is an established thing that everyone knows 😆.

I am not a man but SRK kinda movies doesn't work for me. I need something intellectually stimulating... something different.. Intellectually stimulating movies are one genre of movies attracting their own kind of audiences. There are lot of intellectual movies made in the west, but while many people prefer to watch it, there are many who wouldnt prefer to watch it because of reasons like 'they are not entertaining, only confusing', etc. Like the movie 'matrix', many loved it and found it too intellectual, but many disliked it as it was too confusing for many to comprehend. But however, there are movies which are also intellectual and entertaining, like Aamir Khan movies 😉.

My comments in BLUE...

I don't even want to argue about SRK....why people like/dislike him is all about personal liking....
We live in a society and for a normal human being its OKAY to like /dislike a celebrity because of their personal lives......nobody is stalking the celebrities...their lives are out there for everyone to see....so if one gets affected by it it is absolutely normal.......there is nothing extreme about it.......so its time to stop tooting ur horn and time to respect other people's opinions and not call them fanatics/extreme etc etc...
The word fan may have originated from the word fanatic.....but it is now used for a person who has enthusiasm about something......I can be a fan of anything...it doesn't have to be a celebrity😆🤣

I agree with blue-ice. Admiration is different from extremism. You can still be called a fan when all you do is just admire an actor.
If someone asks you who is your favorite actor, would you answer that question or would you say 'im neutral, I like all actors and actesses who act good'? I havent come across even one person who has said that till now. Men or women, you ask them who is their favorite star, they will name some. Why they don't say 'I like all good movies in which actors have acted well and the direction, cinematography, etc. are good?' So this favoritism is called extremism? Ok maybe there are people who might give such neutral answers, but what is their %? Do you really think it is high enough for producers to ignore star value?

Let's look at an example...

First of all, men don't cry like that.... secondly, that looks anything but "beautiful" and totally unrealistic... thirdly, if your husband turned on the waterworks inside a shopping mall, you'd be singing a different tune 😆

Everyone knows that there is something known as 'star power' or 'star value' bcos of which people flock to theatres. That's why movies with small time actors 'rarely' fare well. And this theory is a no-brainer one that movies with star power attract more people than the ones without them. This is not just the case with India, but even international movies. So what is this 'star power'? It is the fan following of a particular star. This is a very common thing nationally and internationally, and how much ever you say that movies with good stories, direction, cinematography, etc is the best, at the end of the day a movie like that with no star power will rarely fare well. This is an established fact whether anyone likes it or not, as if it wasnt the case, no producer will go behind popular stars as they know where their money lies! Like how you mentioned about direction, script, etc., actor is also one of the important criterion for a movie to be liked, and sometimes its just one actor and his star power that saves a movie.

Hence, souro's statement is TRUE!!! Fans worship their heroes at some or other level.

Also, souros was trying to explain how the word 'Fan' came about.. 😃😃😃

OMG what is wrong with everyone yaar 😆, this topic was supposed to be a hilarious one which hilariously tries to point out the craze SRK has and how majority of females like him compared to any other actor 😆. Do u see this kind of craze for any other actor, atleast in bollywood? I wouldn't open a topic about 'is there any FEMALE who doesn't like Salman Khan or Saif Ali Khan, etc' as here its not a case of majority as some like and some don't. I'm surprised how people cannot see the 'satire' element also embeded in the topic 😲. And Vish I'm surprised that out of all people, you dint get the satire element 😲😲! You actually thought I'm going to make a cleche topic like 'is there any woman who doesnt like SRK' 🤣🤣?!?!?!?

And as I mentioned before, not only this topic is about discussing SRK but the psychology of both the sexes, for men to understand why women are crazy about SRK, and for women to understand why men hate him, etc.
No wonder I always say people are way too serious in DM 😆, even a light topic like this is taken so seriously and without understanding the true meaning and intention of posts, people are taking offence and providing justifications 😆.
Hain bhagwaan, everyone please read my post once again properly instead of assuming that some hardcore SRK fan created the topic, as am not that crazy for him 😆😆. The only times I have strongly supported him in this topic is when I dint find certain comments against him genuine. Wherever people have mentioned genuine things like 'overhyped actor', certain romantic movies of his are cleche, etc. even I have admitted them. So can you all please do me a favor and read my opening post once again, maybe this time round you might be able to get the right perspective 😆. The funniest part is, I have even quoted reasons asking whether these are the reasons why guys dont like SRK in my opening post, and lot of guys are coming and stating the exact same reason that I have mentioned in my opening post and justifying themselves 🤣🤣🤣! This topic has become comedy now 😆!
Let me copy paste something from my opening post as very few people have noticed it I feel -
I am not generalising the above situations, and I'm sure there are lots of exceptions to the above cases with 'women who don't like SRK' and 'men who do' 😳. But here I'm just talking of a common scenario. And if there are exceptions, we would like to hear their views as well 😉.

@ red - Can you tell me what was it that I said that sounded as if I cannot digest that people dislike SRK 😲?!
